Arne Slot - Head Coach (Part 2)

I’m sorry but this is truly stupid and not my idea of how to be a fan.

Yeah I’m not signing it.

I hope FSG read the room as I think a decision has to be made and this will continue next season if it’s allowed but fan petitions are a bit small club petty minded.

Hicks and Gillet deserved it, the players and manager deserved to booed for what they are serving up but this is just silly.

Deserves to be in here

“Mohamed Salah saw this coming. People laughed when he spoke about Liverpool’s standards dropping, but what did we watch today against Chelsea? That did not look like a serious Liverpool side.

This is a Chelsea team everybody has been calling inconsistent, immature, mentally weak all season… yet they looked sharper, hungrier, more organized, and physically stronger than Liverpool. That should worry Arne Slot a lot.

I heard Slot’s response to Salah, saying standards are bigger than one player. Normally I agree with that. But football does not care about press conference answers, it exposes you on the pitch. And today the pitch exposed Liverpool badly.

When your pressing disappears, your midfield stops competing, and your senior players cannot control the tempo against this Chelsea side, then maybe Salah was not protecting his ego… maybe he was warning people.

Liverpool fans hate hearing this because Salah is a legend, but legends usually recognize decline before supporters do. He has been inside that dressing room every day. Maybe he already saw the drop in mentality, intensity, and accountability coming.

Chelsea did not even need to be amazing today. Liverpool made them look like a top European side through poor structure and lack of fight. That is the dangerous part.

So yes, after watching this performance, I think Salah was right to question whether Liverpool’s standards are slipping. Because elite teams do not get outrun and outworked by a Chelsea side that spent most of the season getting mocked.”

Don’t be sorry.

Don’t think it’s stupid.

Btw. I didn’t sign it either.

Yeah, it doesn’t sit well with me either. We always prided ourselves on being loyal and classy fans.
I’ve been critical, and I think we need a change, but there are ways to do things and this isn’t it.

What a thoroughly pointless and embarrassing endeavour.

The petition and the signatures are making Slot’s position untenable, but it’s a crass and classless way to go about it.

Unliverpool like.

:raising_hands: - hands up who’s a fan of Henry? :raising_hands:

And most fans already know this that Salah in the last 9 years has led the way in standards. We’ve had some great players in those years also, but no one even comes remotely close to Salah’s ability and how the legend footballer should go about his perfection to his craft.

There’s only one Salah though, why all of a sudden is everyone expecting a new approach? That’s for the next worldie player to step up to. Henry must think he’s a worldie legend at the highest standard maybe? I dunno … sounds like ego shit all this.

Not bad for a stadium that holds just over 60K.

I won’t be signing. There’s no guarantee that those are even Liverpool fans. Even if they are, I don’t think it’s a good idea to treat treat this as some sort of online popularity content.

It is doing nothing of the sort. The only thing it’s doing is embarrassing the fan base to other fan bases.

I think Slot should be replaced, but I’m not signing the petition. Not my sort of thing for something like this, but I respect the right of fans who think otherwise.

I believe the owners will end it very soon. Ideally we get what we need next game for CL, then it is announced, so we can all say our goodbyes on the final day of the season.

If it doesn’t happen like that, it could make the atmosphere on the last day pretty unpleasant.

why would non LFC fans sign it?

if anything they’d want him to stay,

or maybe they think this embarrasses LFC?

For a laugh. They may not care whether he stays or goes (might be fans from clubs outside of the Premier League?) or might think any decision on whether to retain him has already been made..

That’s what I was thinking.

Let’s be honest, the most embarrassing thing right now is the state of our football and what’s happening on the pitch atm. We don’t need a petition for that.

If you think that FSG haven’t taken notice, think again.

The club has worked very hard to improve/expand its online presence. They now have 24 million followers on [platform name] and 12 million on YouTube. To be a YouTube channel member and get access to exclusive videos, you have to pay, just like with AllredVideo. What do you think the comments are like there right now? They’re all paying fans expressing their dissatisfaction. I’m subscribed too, I dutifully pay my subscription fees every month, and I see this. And yes, they’re definitely aware of it at the club.

Just so you understand, only paying fans can leave comments in this section on YouTube.

It’s worse in the open forum, since anyone can comment there. There are also a lot of comments from rival fans who, of course, want Slot to stay. We were no different when it came to the Ole/ Ten Hague Situation tbf.

Edit

And that’s just YouTube. There was almost a revolt on our official Twitter account yesterday after the game and Arne’s press conference. The comments were really quite harsh. Today the club has largely stopped posting.

Edit

Oh, I just checked again, all the comments from yesterday’s Channel Member post-match reaction show have been deleted. Presumably for some reason.

Really? On the YouTube channel?
Ok…

Yeah you’re right, people who pay into a service will rightly feel dissatisfied, and rightly so, they’ve paid and not felt some return.

But I don’t reckon any of them will consider taking a little step back and look at Arsenal season, they conceded 26 goals in 36 games, that is actually quite low and normally the sign of the title winning side. No other team is close to that. So if you don’t finish first, then you’re either second or lower. 19 other teams also had a failed league season and you can’t now expect to catch up on the winning sides, we have lost our winners. The new guys that haven’t won anything for Liverpool yet have to start a new page in August.
