Oh no, we’re definitely not underestimating what a transfer window under that coach can do, we’ve kinda seen that now…
Don’t even have to miss out on CL for that.
Seriously who would look at us this season and say 'I want to play for Slot‘
True, it’s going be his excuse mind.
Jacob Murphy deal incoming ![]()
Exactly. This is a big worry.
It isn’t worse in an absolute sense, but in terms of what the two had to work with, yeah, we are getting there. I’d love to see someone with half of the determination that Spearing gave Hodgson.
You lost me at NFL ![]()
Speaking of which… the little fella could go and coach them this week instead.

I don’t even know what that means.
Tell me what was worse under Hodgson that is better under this fucking clown?
Arne Slot on position as manager:
“It’s not about me it’s about us being disappointed with the result. I spoke yesterday on it and that’s enough. Our focus is on the Brentford game and making sure we earn the support of the fans by starting the game aggressive and well. The culmination of the fan support and a good performance will lead us to what we want to achieve and that is qualifying for the Champions League."
We were playing garbage football against teams like Northampton, instead of top 4 sides. Plus, I think you are forgetting how dire our possession was under Hodgson, like we didn’t want the ball - remember that absurd match at Anfield where we all but forced 50% possession on a Blackpool side that resolutely thumped the ball clear of their end?
But with Hodgson, we were seeing the same dispirited lack of focus and energy that we see this side, just with far less talented players due to the sorry state of the club. WTF is going on with McAllister, just for one example? PL and WC winner in prime playing age, and his defining moment this evening was that?!? Roy was working with Rafa’s bargain bin projects, Slot was backed by an astonishing level of spending.
The definition of a cheque book manager
I think Arne underestimates what a training session can do. He should try one every so often.
Nah mate.
We saw what the last one did ![]()
We’ve been playing garbage football against everyone for over 12 months. Not just the top 4.
I haven’t forgotten. Is the possession we’ve been watching under Slot any better? It’s fucking clueless and every bit as bad.
So you’re agreeing it’s just the same only that side had far less talented players? I’d say that makes what we are seeing now worse.
I expect at least Hogan to be there. Unless he’s living under a rock he should know what an omnishambles we are right now and it’s getting worse.
I’m gonna lose it at this point. So he’s saying what they got in the summer wasn’t good enough? Where was this attitude when the team won a few games? Did he still think that we needed another summer to sort things out or is this what he’s trotting out now because the bottom is fallen out of the team? And if he and Hughes don’t have the foresight to see that the massive and catastrophic changes they made of the summer would result in this sort of disjointed effort came after game then that alone is grounds for sacking for gross incompetence.
They have basically sabotaged the squad.
The team is not worse in an absolute sense, but in a relative one, yeah, I would say is at least as bad. As I think @redbj said in the match thread, there have been little splashes of quality, even two players linking up here and there, but I put that down to the higher base talent level in comparison to 10/11
Some feel this is the lowest point of the club in modern times because of the travel, the fall from Klopp has been greater here, than the fall from Rafa to Hodgson, and for that it is much worse. Its also brought shame on the club, because it might be the worst title defence, or one of, ever seen in the entire history of the Prem. On the pitch I dont think we’re quite as bad as Konchesky, Poulsen and Jovanovic. Another parallel to notice, like Mascherano, some of the more senior established quality players are leaving. Yes they might have been near the exit door anyway, but they’ve still, in my view, gone early because of the culture within the club.
In totality then, regret to say, it is the worst. It feels so inside. Shambolic.
