Arne Slot - Head Coach (Part 2)

The mentality of the club is so weak these days…

2-3 day mini-break. I’m fucking speechless.

I only know that Edwards has some fancy formula that he believes can cut through all the noise and figure out who fits the profile of Liverpool manager best. Maybe Alonso just didn’t score high enough.

Apparently, he doesn’t have the guts to tell his wife: ‘That’s it, we’re done living in Zwolle; you’re coming here, and soon.’

Our coach is a weak man.

Guess who is at kirkby training today?

Disgraceful decision from Slot to not conduct any form of training or recovery at all…

Its driving me to swear…whose fucking idea was it to go on a jolly…get on the training pitch and work out how the fuck we score next Sunday…and Slot…should be picking out which new players he can bring to the club..but the state of LFC at the moment it would be an easy job…

Is it confirmed that we are having the weekend off or are we getting angry before knowing anything?

The only thing - and this is a massive stretch on my part - is if the club have made a decision under advisement that what the squad needs after the tragedy of the summer, is as much time away from each other as possible. so they are being given breaks and time off as much as possible. It might be be of the ways the club are convinced things will be better next year.

I’m not defending it, but I’m trying to see what the possible justification could be for sending them all on a bloody holiday every time they crash to a pitiful defeat.

I was going to say the same. Clearly Salah isn’t away and it looks like Curtis isn’t either.

Perhaps it’s like that episode of 30 Rock where the writing team think Tracy Morgan can’t read so encourage him to have lessons. He then plays up on this so he can go off and not do any work for the day

We’re frustrated and any excuse to vent that frustration is good imo.
We all need a holiday from this shit as well. We need to be fresh and prepared for next season. Many of us were caught off guard by this season. We mustn’t let that unawareness catch us out again.

Interesting take and I’m certainly not going to dispute it.

I’m currently reading a book called The Miracle of Castel Di Sangro. It’s about a small Italian club from a town with a population of about 5000 who, in the mid 90’s, fought their way up the pyramid and found themselves in Serie B. Probably a bit like Marine finding themselves in the Championship.
Halfway through the season they couldn’t buy a goal, never mind a win. Then, tragedy struck. 2 of their players were killed in a car crash after an away match.
The guy who wrote the book, an American who was spending the season following them, went home for Christmas and when he returned found they’d won the 3 games hed missed, including against the league leaders.
When he asked one of the players how the fuck that happened he was told the whole squad had been determined to fight tooth and nail in memory of the 2 lads who’d died. They ended up staying up.
Different times, different people etc and like I say I’m certainly not judging anyone.

A fresh and mentally prepared TAN forum will be crucial to the club’s success next season.

To play the devil’s advocate for a while… Therein lies the key (probably) to Slot remaining the head coach here, though, otherwise I think he would have been dismissed months ago. Even with Alonso’s availability, maybe the powers that be at the club didn’t think he would bring any notable improvement over Slot, while the “better” options were unavailable at the time?

That said… What options are there? When Klopp left, the club (according to Liverpool-related journos) contacted Alonso’s agent to test the waters, then swiftly moved on to Slot. So, I got the impression it would have been either a youngish manager who won the German league or a youngish manager who won the Dutch league.

To me, it seems like this time the club won’t be able to appoint a manager/head coach with trophy-winning experience if they sack Slot, so we would have to afford quite some patience to the new guy, something we as fan base haven’t done since… 2012?

Anyway, I don’t think Slot is turning this ship around and I don’t have a replacement in my mind to support other than Iraola. One thing that Iraola might have over Slot is that he had a very difficult spell with Bournemouth earlier this season that he managed to majestically turn around and possibly lead them to their first ever CL participation at the expense of…

They are having a meal out? Salah who is at the training ground in that photo.

If it’s this weekend then it probably has more of a profound impact on his statement yesterday.

I’d be surprised if Wirtz finished his dinner.

Isn’t the major criticism is he looks lost and out of sorts rather than his finishing.

OK, I doubt Wirtz could find his dinner.
