Have to say, when AlonsoĀ“s Leverkusen were totally outplayed and he outthought by Atalanta in the final I was a bit shocked at how poor they were, and the Madrid stuff is still a slightly mark against him.

With that being the case, I think there are some doubts that he is the perfect candidate, but he did do a very good job domestically at Leverkusen and he is a club legend.

If we had already made the decision to move on you think they would announce it before the game. That would entirely change the context of the day removing pretty much all the potential for something embarrassing or ugly and give him the opportunity for a send off he still deserves not matter how bad this season has been. Every hour that goes by feels to me like it is changing the probability that it happens

It all seems so reactionary.

Iā€™m all for giving him reasonable time but the empirical evidence has been strongly suggesting alarm bells ringing for a long time yet we see no movement. Are they going to announce it after the season is over?

I foresee nothing but misery next season if Slot stays.
