Arne Slot - Head Coach (Part 2)

Until someone can tell me what Edwards actually does I wouldn’t get rid of him.

It would be an utterly idiotic move. You do this sort of change gradually. Big questions in whether the players we already got are at all fit for purpose.

There are a couple I would get rid of but it’s pointless until you address the proper issue.

Some has mentioned that the recent PPG for us is relegation form..Next season, we might not have that 5 or 6 early season victory streak anymore to bail our collective arses out.

Arteta is gonna continue at Arsenal.

Man city is gonna have a new manager but the quality of that squad is immense enough for a top 4 finish.

Man united has Carrick who is surprisingly racking more PPG than Slot.

Chelsea has Xabi who is gonna make them competitive.

Emery seems to have handled midweek games and league games well enough for them to leapfrog us in the league.

And then we are stuck with Slot…That is depressing as fuck…

Motm Mo.

And he is going on a free ffs…not even a customary 10 million sale…

The fact that Slot will likely still be here next season is depressing as fuck. It will set us back more than the 3 or 4 months before he’s sacked. New man can’tstart proper re build really until next summer.

And at the start of this season we were Champions, had just spent £450m and were favourites to retain our crown.

As we’ve shown this season it’s easy to make predictions but not so easy to get them right. I could easily counter all those points.

Will Arsenal come back with the same hunger having now won what eluded them for the previous three seasons. We know how hard it is to retain a title.

Maresca is nowhere near Pep’s level and three seasons ago he was managing in the Championship.

I remember the Ole bounce. Got the job full time and then flopped. This time last year Carrick was getting sacked by Boro.

Xabi will be Chelsea’s 12th permanent manager since we appointed Klopp. The chances of him still being there at the end of next season are 50/50 and he has one of the most disjointed squads to work with.

Emery, great if you want to win the Europa but can he get Villa to kick on. Actually got one fewer points than last year when they finished 6th which would suggest something of a ceiling for him.

Now I highly doubt all of the above are correct but it’s just as likely they all are as it is your list is.

Add in the likely belated reaction to arsenal’s cheating from the officials now arsenal have their title. There is doubt an opportunity there for next season, which is part of why I’m so bummed by our seeming direction

And who knows, maybe the PL show some bollocks and actually punish City for all their cheating and they aren’t even in the conversation any more.

Unlikely but possible.

We will probably find out in the next couple of days what the club are really thinking with regards to the management structure.

Do they actually know what the problem is? If the management and coaches know what they need to change, then that’s half the problem solved.

Unfortunately, I don’t think Slot has a clue. Do those above him? Do they realise that a professional football team is more than just picking players on a PlayStation?

Injuries can definitely derail a season. To win a title you have to be lucky on that front.

However, I expect the coach to work with what he has. We still have 11 very capable players for every game. We aren’t finishing with our 5th and 6th choice centre backs with their heads held together with gaffer tape.

The word I would use is omnishambles.

Every time I tell myself to give Arne the benefit of the doubt, he says something which just pisses me off.

Nothing will be better for his standing than to stay away from microphones for a couple months.

I didn’t expect him to be out before the end of the season, although I firmly believe he should’ve seen the door back in January.

There’s a mix of the team looking half-arsed, very poor people management skills, a very poor understanding of the fanbase and the city, an unwillingness to work with the fans, gaslighting either the fans or the players in response to reporters’ questions, a complete lack of player improvement, no real pattern of play and clear weaknesses he still hasn’t found solutions for. And that’s just off the top of my head.

I expect to see him gone within the next few days.rthere is no way I can support this kind of coach.
Also the word I’d use to sum up the season is: excuses. And honestly, that should’ve been one of the easiest questions to answer, yet he still somehow fucked it up by replying with “injuries”. He could’ve just said disappointing and own it ffs.

I haven’t noticed his family today, a bit strange imo
