Arne Slot - Head Coach (Part 2)

Indykaila is baiting Liverpool supporters again. It could be Slot seeking revenge on those agreeing with Salah’s post, or it could be Slot getting the chop, or anything.

Nah. I think he lives near Burnley.

OK. I’ll do it, and I won’t ask for much, apart from having the final say on who gets bought and sold.

Edit: Whoops. Should’ve scolled down a bit. But Clitheroe is near Burnley.

If he couldn’t improve the result within the first five games, I will be in the camp to call for his head.

I think if they were sacking him, it would have happened within a few hours of the end of the match. I’m expecting him to stay, at this point.

There’s a thought that’s been nagging at me and it goes along the lines of, Slot summarising to the board during his interview,

ā€œFinally, over the last 30 minutes or so I’ve laid out my three year plan for rejuvenation and establishing of the path to the next 10 years, all I ask is to be judged at the end of those 3 years. Thank-youā€.

I don’t think they would have wanted to take the attention away from Mo and Robbo. And it’s a public holiday in the UK today, isn’t it?

Maybe we will hear something in the next few days. I’m expecting ā€œsomethingā€ regarding coaching staff soon. I mean they can’t believe what gets churned out every week is satisfactory, can they?

No chance they will sack him today. Most likely is either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Match day is highly unlikely unless the relationship between board and coach has completely broken down. Today is a bank holiday, so legal and executives won’t be working today which leaves it to be a post-season review tomorrow. Then depending on the outcome of the review, meeting will be organised for either later tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday.

No way am I fan or admirer of Stevie G as a PL manager… but in all honesty, he couldn’t do any worse than the cold fish we have in charge at the moment…

The downside as I see it, not only is Slot becoming more unrelatable to me as a devoted fan of LFC by the week… I am not sure how that connection could ever be revived if we did ever go on and win something with him at the helm…

This guy has never had to manage footballers of the highest calibre, and to me, he has no clue how to untap their vast potential, nor any idea whatsoever, how to handle them as footballers and elite sportsmen…

What is that famous phrase…" We are doomed I say"

Fortunately, today is a bank holiday in England. That probably soothes a bit of the anger stemming from the performance yesterday.

I do hope the panel conducting the post mortem is Hughes, Mike Gordon,Edwards and two independent parties in Jurgen Klopp and King Kenny…

Exactly! Robbo and Mo were not given the mic to address the Anfield crowd to say goodbye, instead they had to do it through the camera. Klopp always went all around the pitch to thank the fans.

Slot just sat on his arse the whole time looking as as if he couldn’t wait to get on the jet Ibiza!

How standards have fallen.

Maybe he knows his time here is up, and there is a hollowness to waving to the crowd.

He could have acknowledged crowd by saying ā€˜sorry’ in his own way. Klopp always said sorry to us. :slightly_frowning_face:

I am just sad and frustrated Quicksand. :upside_down_face:

Why do they want to approach LegoMan? :joy:

I just have this feeling that we’re all going to be very disappointed over the next few weeks!

Well, Robbo and Mo not given the mic is really shows the state of things by Slot. Slot subbing out Mo so early is also very suspicious…Not saluting the loyal Kop is also very brain-dead and low EQ. The least he could do is to walk a lap of the field to offer his contrite apology for failing to remotely challenge for the title. Instead, his post match is about gaslighting everyone that injuries was the main factor for the poor performance all season long…

He’s such a dislikeable person. During the good times, he lapped the adulation up like no tomorrow. During the bad times, he pushes it to everything else and fires the set-piece coach in the season. At no point, did he held his hand up and own the error.

He claims that new signings in the backroom and the playing staff will magically make all the problems disappear except the new coach is a set-piece guy which also doesn’t solve the structural problems in the style of play. If this is not a scam, I wonder what is?

As thi s season has progressed I have managed to dislike Slot a lot, aloof, always excuses that a 10 year old would come up with, ridiculous subs, poor use of his players.
If he is here for the new season it is going to be a very long season.

I don’t think Slot is unlikeable. I actually think he’s a good man who tries to say the right things. I just think he’s a bit oblivious as to how he’s received, and I think he’s out of his depth in terms of man management and endearing himself to the supporters.

But I could forgive all of that if he didn’t look bereft of ideas as to how to get the most out of his players tactically. And I’m just not convinced to back a manager…err, a head coach…who is failing at that most important duty.

I’ve just woken up. Another glorious morning, but Slot is still here.
