Arne Slot - Head Coach

Why would anyone even think to compare how much patience each manager was given? Its a comparison that makes no sense. One inherited a title challenging side expected to challenge again had the manager not stepped down and the other inherited a side going backwards and in complete financial disarray

Exactly.

You could be comparing Slot and Klopp here

Ok
Have a look around at the criticism that Slot is getting??
From Liverpool supporters and sections of the media. My point is, that Arteta, having spent an enormous amount of money has been given time to win something. Slot already has won a title and should be afforded some patience. The comparison is valid, in terms of patience.

My only criticism of Slot would be playing players who are in a bad patch of form, I am a massive believer in meritocracy.

At our level you need players performing and working hard for the team.

Yup, will be really disappointed if Curtis and Wirtz don’t start on Saturday

Agreed, also, for me Mo on current form doesn’t deserve to start

To be fair Salah was never dropped during his poor form under Klopp.

At one point I was sure that he had a clause.

If Isak is not going to play because of his groin, I wouldn’t mind seeing the same formation as the CL game, only with Mo up front alongside Ekitike.

He might spark to life again closer to the goal. Wirtz in behind them. Two wide players outside in a very attacking 325 when we attack, to revert to more of a 442 when defending.

I’m intrigued by the formation. The personnel can shuffle around a bit, but I’d like to see what Mo can do up front in a two.

where do you want me to start?

Will Slot survive until Christmas?

I’ve gone with yes because FSG were slow even on Hodgson and Stevie Wonder could see that wasn’t going improve.

Clueless. 9 months of fucking shit. Enough is enough.

FSG aren’t the type of owners to rush into sacking a manger based on a few bad results. They will monitor, and act when backed into a corner, but until they view it as a hopeless cause, they will back Slot

We made a lot of changes in the summer to what was already a very good, even excellent side. To many it seemed unnecessary in the amount we did for as good as we already were. More disruptive than additive. A big key to their response to this form will be knowledge of what Hughes and Slot thinking was in doing that much at once. I still don’t get it and don’t think you get to ask to for time for a new side to gel when it was your choice to dismantle a title winning side. But if there was knowledge of blinking warning signs they needed to address quickly and with that came a preemptive understanding the transition would not be seamless then I’d expect Edwards and FSG to back Hughes and Slot for a long way…because make no mistake there is a way this plays out that the “WTF did you did” falls on Hughes as much as Slot

Leaning towards no mainly because patience can be lost so quickly - especially when they see no willingness to change, managers losing their jobs more frequently nowadays than ever before and the fact we’ve just spent £450m and gone backwards, not only backwards, but into the abyss.

They were in charge 3 months then sacked Hodgson, pulled the bullet on Kenny sharpish only one they hung around on was Rodgers he should have gone that summer.

The upcoming fixtures are worry. Losing one player per game through injury is an even bigger now.

If we get a new manager and he wins the league with that team, will he have only won it with Slot’s team?
Sorry, I’ll see myself out.
