These things are quite clearly not like this summer (and as an aside, on the first one Beardsley was the only “expensive” one of the 3 and Aldo had already been at the club for a year). We have often had the capacity to spend when we needed. This summer was different. Both in magnitude and also style.
Neither do I, but we are in uncharted territory and are so after spending a fucking fortune. The pressure and the questions are there whether we want them to be or not.

I’d be surprised, not really how FSG does things. Might begin the process that sees him leave at the end of the season, not sure, but they just don’t make a move before they know what they want the next one to be.

This tonight was an absolute disgrace from everyone. We’ve set up in a way that we increased chances for absolutely no positives. Palace were favourites and won the game.
If we feel like throwing games away in this period is the right thing to do, then something is rotten.
Big pressure for Saturday now, bigger than it would’ve been.
I don’t think Slot is close to the sack yet, but if this continues, it might not be far. This will have it’s limit.

Damn near happened twice in the next season, but some draws broke up the streaks in what was an even worse season.

I have no idea, but in 1987 money it was less a million nearly a decade after british clubs broke the million pound threshold. It was a fee other clubs were also routinely paying. It is just not a comparison.

I would have agreed with that but as long as this carries on it gets harder. Poor results against Villa and City say only get a point 1 from 18 the position is becoming unrecoverable.
