Arne Slot - Head Coach

i know he had a few bad runs and is not the ideal candidate… i said ‘Gerrard’ in jest to be honest, but the more you think on it, the more it might be better than what we are seeing now.

we play with zero passion but have quality players
Slot is obviously not getting any responses
with Gerrard as an interim it gives assurances to who we approach for the long term that the role is open, and even some form of input to player recruitment

dunno…shades of OGS which sents shudders down your spine, but as a purely interim appointment?

No, no, no.

Gerrard is not a good coach and he would drag us further down.

Third straight defeat with a three goal margin. Second straight 3 goal margin defeat at Anfield.

I know the transfers were lopsided but he had something in the beginning of the season. Then he got overly clever and completely lost it.

Klopp is the only choice if its caretaker.

He absolutely would but if Slot is to be fired I think the one I would expect us to approach is Iraola.

I think he would come to one of the greatest clubs in history.

That’s a very depressing list.

We dont need passion mate. We need a stable and organised way of playing. Stevie is just not that guy we need right now.

Continue this way and we ship 2 goals minimum a game. If someone comes in, they absolutely must get this team defending and solid again.

What about bringing in Heitinga to help Slot out?

Although it strikes me that Jonny/Arne’s plans worked with the old squad and they’d both have the same problem with this “revamped” iteration.

Collectively they wouldn’t know what to do.

Austrian media are already speculating that Glasner would be a hot candidate now, but that it would probably cost us 10 million .

would he though, in reality?

10 defeats in 12 games.

i get hes not the greatest manager ever to coach the game, but in the context of where we are, who he is, and with strict understanding its an interim posting…

not available, surely.

If it’s a permanent option, then Iraola or Fabregas. The problem is, no one in their right mind would leave mid-season for Liverpool, they’d be on a hiding to nothing. This is depressing.

Hard pass.

We’d have the same issue we did with Kenny the last time around . We pick coaches on merit not nostalgia.

We’ve got an excellent squad, seems to me they are being misused. Get the wingers closer to goal, full backs overlapping, clearer definition of roles to the CMs (who look confused at what they are supposed to be doing). It’s a few fixes way from being excellent again.

If a new coach came in they’d have plenty of time to make changes.

Couldn’t be worse.

There was 1 name on there which did surprise me was not coaching anyone, Xavi.

No idea if he would be interested but definitely someone I think would be a good option

I once made a comment on here, regarding a half time talk…and one reply was…I think Wilkored08 should take over( forget who replied)…well…I’ve got nothing on for the next few weeks…and some in that dressing room need a kick up the arse…not all…but some…if this goes on much longer…our better players will be putting in transfer requests for January…who wants to play for this shit show team…rant over…but nowhere near happy…

I don’t think any of our players know what they’re supposed to do. I noticed months ago that there was always a huge distance between our player with the ball and his closest teammates. Even for a layman, that was a sign that something was off, especially for a coach who was supposed to bring possession-based football with him.

I do think we have excellent individuals but not an excellent squad, though.
