Probably no truth at all but I have heard from 2 different sources today that Nagelsmann has been sounded out for next season…![]()

That is exactly what I can’t get my head around. One and a half years ago, they opted for continuity, and were rewarded for it with the PL trophy. Then, the same men decide to go into last summer and, instead of building from a position of strength, to unsettle the apple cart, sell players left and right, and buy the next-best blinky toys in the shop window.
The word hubris comes to mind, but why? Slot, Edwards and Hughes are proven professionals who should know better, and yet, with hindsight, they seemed to conduct themselves like 12-years old. ![]()
Why back someone whose fall from grace has been so quick and catastrophic?
The club will look silly if we lose next 2 then what? Another 2? Then another 2?
I know we aren’t really a sacking club but the season is still saveable at this moment.
It might not be in two or three weeks.
The question is who would replace him? If the right person isn’t available, they’ll have no choice but to back him for the time being.
He’s about to lead his country to the World Cup. More chance of Jan Molby being our next coach
I said next season…won’t the world cup be over by then?
Unless we lose the next 5 or 6 games I can’t see them sacking him mid season or bringing in a stop gap so more likely a change for the beginning of next season…
Club have shown they will keep the guy they have until they see the right person available - or at least an appropriate alternative.
Also, it depends on what the club view as the underlying issues and causes. When the club ballsed up the spending of the Suarez money, they gave Brendan more time and money to try and turn things around. So, If there is any truth to these stories that Arne was overruled on player purchases/ sales then that might buy him some time, especially if the club think they can get a player or two in January who could make a difference.
Looking purely at the points, top four is still very doable with 2/3 of the season to go, and qualification for the knockout stages in the CL is very much on the cards. We have fallen off, and we are in a downward spiral, but as things stand we are not so far gone as to be completely out of touch.
So, it would appear that something is still salvageable from this season.
Here’s the rub. Does Slot believe it? Do the players believe it? Do the players believe in him? Confidence seems shot, and so in that context a turnaround seems all the more difficult.
As things stand I would keep Slot in place, to see if something might possibly spark - a little professional pride from the players to give us a foothold perhaps?
But I would also be making moves, just in case, to see who else is out there and who could be available.
I don’t like the idea of an interim, but I could get on board with that if it was necessary to first stop the bleeding. It would have to be made clear to all that it was an interim role and a permanent appointment would be coming.
I really hope Slot can turn it around. At that point I also want to talk about motivation. Yes, the manager is responsible for motivating the players, but they are also responsible for motivating themselves, and bringing their best to work each day, and they have not been doing that. If it comes to it, Slot will get the chop, but the players are letting him down.
Almost embracing your inner Rogers there but its a nice spin

Look, I’ve always said a man can live for a week without food, but he can’t for five minutes without hope. Or oxygen. Or in the vacuum of space.
What I’m trying to say is you need hope. And oxygen.
Ah sorry missed that
…and envelopes
Arne looks like he’s getting bags under his eyes.
“Our running data was very high, a few personal bests there, but it didn’t lead to anything”

It wouldn’t surprise me if Slot has lost the dressing room.He is a horrible man-manager.Look at how he treated Quansah and now he is treating Chiesa,Endo and Gomez. The guy is a joke and so are the people still defending him.
No problem.
For your scenario to become realistic, he will have to start winning soon, and I don’t see that happening.
I am in London this week and have had hospitality tickets for Sunday for a while now. If we win that match, I expect a personal invitation from Slot to attend the rest of the matches this season as a talisman. ![]()
The guy is a joke and so are the people still defending him.
I won’t have that. He won us nr. 20, and irrespectively of whether he’ll stay with us or not going forward, he deserves a minimum of respect for that.

Nobody is ‘defending’ him as such. Some people are cautious about rushing to sack him, especially with no-one obvious to replace him. People are entitled to that view without a lad who barely posts turning up and calling them a joke.
We can choose to have a sensible conversation about what Slot and the club do next - or we can all retreat to entrenched positions and throw rocks at each other.
I know its really probably nothing but …isak made his debut for us on 17th September, our decline started on the 23rd of September…
There’s only 2 groups of people we can trust…our families and each other…and the supporters.
He is a horrible man-manager.Look at how he treated Quansah and now he is treating Chiesa,Endo and Gomez.
He is the manager of LFC, not the player’s mate.
Quansah wasn’t quite ready, what he needs is playing time at a top league which he is now getting.
Gomez is CONSTANTLY injured so it’s hard to pick him regularly or rely on him.
Endo may not have the skill set required for what we want as a starter in our midfield.
However, with Chiesa I don’t understand why Slot doesn’t trust him (he clearly doesn’t and he must have his reasons why).
I would trust the manager who won us no 20 but within reason of course. Let’s see what happens. If he has to go, he has to go, the club will make the decision.
