Honestly I don’t believe ANYTHING that comes out of anyone from the club about things from that period. There is so much myth making and a group of players so absurdly credulous about everything. Did you know Fergie commuted to training on a winged horse, and if players got out of line he pulled a gorgon’s head out of a bag and turned them to stone?
A winged horse called Rock of Gibraltar
Re: japp stam.
I thought part of the reason he was sold was because in his autobiography he mentioned that he was tapped up by Man Utd whilst at PSV.
Yes that was the story in real time. Fergie later came out with a different explanation, but it’s all just a mess of self-serving messaging.
The club said it was a response to Stam speaking publicly when he had not got approval for it. In reality the issue was the thing he disclosed was a big embarrassment for Fergie (being involved in tapping him up) and that was drove the response. Then when Stam went on to maintain his top form at Milan Fergie needed alternative explanations to not make the move seem like a mistake taken as a result of an emotional response so he blamed the club’s data guys for telling him he was declining ![]()
I do always like when people make something up and then get mad about it.
My god this place is ridiculous at times!! I didn’t state it was a good path for Slot to take!! Fergie did get rid of Roy Keane as I understand it - the other 2 players mentioned - I was quoting 2 players who were at the bloody club! What the hell is to be gained by nit picking and missing the point.
It seems to happen constantly here and all it does it derail conversations!
Just to clarify something for everyone, because it matters for how we discuss things here:
If someone wants to talk about a principle and uses an example to support it, it is completely valid for others to question whether the example is accurate.
You might not agree with their interpretation, and it might be frustrating if you’re focused on the principle, but challenging the example is part of discussing the principle.
The comparison rests on a real-world case, and that case isn’t accurate or doesn’t fit, then:
the validity of the principle being suggested can also be questioned.
That is not “derailing,” trolling, or nit-picking.
It’s engaging with the idea.
Hopefully Dildo you will cool off a bit overnight. Realise you were acting a bit of a dick.
Drop the ring, have a beer and come back to middle earth.
I know a guy who can show him around.
Get Seedorf asap as the mediator!

I love Seedorf, one of my favourite midfielders in my following.
If AS gets this team playing and winning together ASAP, we will gain a manager that will have been through a huge, personal learning curve… Not saying he does, but if AS ever needed a huge spoonful of humility to swallow… he will have been served it in spades
COYR… sort our house out and get back to winning ways
Hopefully Dildo you will cool off a bit overnight. Realise you were acting a bit of a dick.

Dildo…waggin….sounds like a vibrator
My tuppence on the question you are posing is that we should sell, unless the player apologizes and there is a reconciliation.
Everyone makes mistakes, and it need not be the end. I believe forgiveness is possible, and we should keep the door open to allow for that possibility.
But the situation can’t fester indefinitely, without resolution. It will need an apology from Mo, and then he should work through his grievance behind closed doors with the relevant parties.
If Mo won’t do that the club should sell, because he is undermining the manager and we should not allow such open dissent as it is toxic for a healthy culture.
The complicating factor is the timing. Mo is leaving in a few days. And his post today - no comment, just a picture of him alone in the gym - didn’t come across as conciliatory, at all. So it does not look to me as though Mo is in any mood to make an apology.
But we will see soon enough, one way or the other.
Fuck this forum. It’s shit. I’m going to join a different one.
I hope you can stay mate.
First, for the brilliant username.
And second, because I just answered the question you posed above ![]()
On a more serious note, the forum is a bit tetchy at the moment, but that’s just an extension of what is going on at the club. We’ve been having a bad season, and now Salah has spoken out in the way he did, so we are in choppy waters - as a club, and as a forum.
I have been here for years (not as long as many others) but I will say, without hesitation, that there are many many good reds in here and the forum is a good one.
I do hope you will be able to stay.
Sorry, but I don’t want our club stepping over backwards for players and allowing them to dictate, we have all been laughing at Manure and the attitude of their players, but we want us to be lenient with Mo.
For me there is only 1 way back for Mo and that is an apology to all.
Gods forbid we start on the slippery slope of player power.
Sorry, but I don’t want our club stepping over backwards for players and allowing them to dictate
That is definitely not going to happen.
Fuck this forum. It’s shit. I’m going to join a different one.
See ya!
No one is bigger than TAN.
Sound like a certain player.
Paul Ince!
Is that Dildo you are talking about or Mo, just asking for a friend.
Total lie everyone knows I have no friends, Billy…
I miss Darwin and dildoswaggins.
