Arne Slot - Head Coach

Moreso than your mention of it every post?

When did this happen?

Not sure when the transition started, it was reported by James Pearce and Greg Evan’s last month, seems to indicate occurred over the summer

“So what are the current dynamics of Liverpool’s dressing room, and how is it different from last season following a summer of change?

Under previous manager Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool had a designated leadership group that consisted of Van Dijk, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson and Alisson. When Henderson and Milner left the club in 2023, Salah was added.

But over the course of his Anfield reign, Arne Slot has moved away from having a formal leadership group. The Dutchman has instead largely looked to his captain and vice-captain to set the tone.”

Slot, Virgil and Robbo.

What? He wasn’t here then?

Seemed a bit downbeat at the presser tonight.

Perhaps a combination of Frimpong’s injury and perhaps the reactions on his comments are getting to him more and more.

He could surely be a bit more prudent at times, but some things are also taken out of context.

Unfortunately it is how it is, the outside world full of people who apparently follow everything about the club are not arsed to actually listen what he says and their reactions to it actually increases the overall pressure.

We have football issues this season and Slot is part of that responsibility.

Just feel a bit sorry for him at the moment.

If this is the game this is turning into, then I don’t like it as I did in the past.

@LewisSteele_
That was a bizarre presser. They’ve won 6-0 but I’ve walked out the room with a sense of negativity. Someone somewhere has clearly wound up Arne Slot

Every time I read something from Lewis Steele and David Lynch it’s negative so I’m not surprised.

Yeah, I’m not the only one then.

Maybe he’s feeling it might be the end soon or maybe the reactions from the public are getting to him.

This whole season there’s been so much focus on what he said.

Give him another 70 hrs and 20 mins at least.

Is it maybe his accent and he’s actually saying we have a problem with Jan Oblak. Everyone is trying to solve the low block problem and he is looking for solutions for the Jan Oblak problem.

Just made this comment, but might be more appropriate here:

I didn’t see the presser, but Slot is fighting for his life as Liverpool head coach, and the presumptive nominee is very much available. Lots of whispers, and it’s not hard to see how an angry siege mentality sort-of-thing might be creeping in.

If that’s what it is, good! It might serve us well for the remainder of the season.

It’s difficult to see it as anything other than a shot at people he feels are making negative comparison to Klopp…”oh I only won the league with his side, well how did he do with “his side” in his last European campaign?” The question is why is responding to that sort of talk and what does that say about his state of mind.

Good post, regarding the off pitch stuff and if it ain’t broke then there’s no need to fix it.

But, if you are on the pitch you still need to take responsibility for what is happening in and around you.

Totally agree how many people comment on what Arne says but haven’t watched whole interview or press conference.

Anyone watching the unraveling of Madrid?
An apt cautionary tale of the value of simple solutions…

maybe he’s realised that he’s gonna have to play Ramsay at RB,
the young lad he said wasnt good enough a couple of week ago!

Plus he is gutted Endo did OK.

I know its Twitter bullshit but there’s a few people saying that he will be gone before the weekend.

I dont believe it at all. I think people are just comparing what happened with Rodgers.
