Arne Slot - Head Coach

Depends how often you use it

moving to an English speaking country and having to use English everyday in the work place for near 2 years would help though

agreed?

Not when looking for reasons to avoid answering in perfect english when things are this bad ?

Yes. And his English is good. But there’s a vast difference between good and getting every word spot on, especially when speaking spontaneously and in public.

Lovely display of arrogance. I hope that was good enough English.

Its not actually, its a lovely example of British humour, something you just demonstrated that the Germans are famous for apparently lacking.

If it was Tierney there, it would be more like a scrum…

Liam Rosenior should be on the market soon, if we’re looking??

6 year payoff too, piece of piss this football manager thingy

Felt a bit sorry for Slot in that press conference. Would love to see it end well for everyone. We get into CL, Xabi arrives in the summer, and Arne gets a good job and finds success elsewhere

I totally agree with this sentiment, the vitriol he is getting isn’t warranted.

Respect what he has brought us and be mature in thanking him.

These muppets that abuse him aren’t worth listening to.

For all his faults this season he has at least won something which is what 99% of these managers who just get a new payoff every 6 months haven’t.

Slot won’t be sacked because of what he says. I’m much less concerned about digging into each statement to the nth degree. He’s under pressure and that’s what it sounds like to me when he speaks.

He will be sacked because of results this season, a lack of a clear pattern of play, a certain malaise around the club, and generally not getting enough out of the group he leads, even taking into account some difficult circumstances.

Someone asked about percentile chances of Slot being at the helm going into next season.

For me, 20% he stays, but that assumes we finish in the CL spots and he comes through his end of season review.

If we don’t finish in the CL spots I would say it is a less than 5% chance he stays.

The CL won’t be the be all and end all in itself, but if all the factors added together means he falls short of that, it will surely be goodbye. A suitable new manager will also be a crucial part of the decision.

That effort from Slot, looked to me to be more like a Swansong.
If he was primarily concerned about the booing, can’t imagine that helped.
If he does stay we will likely be going through this again next season. He has been quoted on more than one occasion as saying he didn’t now what to do next, and TBF it shows at times, again Spurs was of course the most recent example.
He seems a decent bloke and certainly bear him no ill will, but this job may have been a bit far, too soon.
