I wonder who actually sacked him to be honest. I assume it was Edwards or Hogan.
Might have been Werner. Definitely wasn’t Edwards.
Famously Trump’s first Sec State got fired while taking a shit while suffering a bout of diarrhea in Africa.
sacked for going for a Donald Trump?
And what has Slot got to do with the shit in the pants?

Even one of the best operators in FSG will also struggle with the sunk cost fallacy like everyone else…
Dentist, having a polish?
How symbolic
Did he still have his suit pants on like his master participates in :0)
So he was sacked by Teams or the video call tech back then.
We’re a £4bn asset to FSG and they aren’t going to fire him without a plan in place. This isn’t emotional for them, they’re not fans they’re business people. Personally I’m fine with that as you only pull the trigger once you know who is replacing him or you run the risk of being forced into a decision and end up giving it Gerrard despite him doing nothing to warrant consideration.
As for them being in America and Slot in the Netherlands or Ibiza that does’t stop him getting fired. We’re a global organisation and people don’t need to be in the same room to get things done.
It’s basically this week or the summer and I suspect it largely depends on who they want to replace him and when they want to start. Right now Alonso would be the overwhelming favourite but you can be sure Chelsea will be on the hunt for a new manager in the summer at this rate. United may stick with Carrick but that’s not their plan currently. City could be looking for a Pep replacement. Wouldn’t be surprised if Newcastle rolled the dice too. That’s just PL clubs we could be competing with for anyone we’re looking at.
Would understand them operating with calm heads to make the right decision for the long term, even if that means missing the CL this season. But we absolutely cannot now keep him beyond the summer even if by some miracle we scrape CL qualification. We can’t let this malaise creep into a new season on the hope a pre-season and a more settled group will turn it around.
I have no issues with the idea of being outrun, as you do cover less ground when in possession.
The issue I have and others, is that when we have to work hard and run we look knackered and some look like they are running in treacle.
Also, when in possession we seem to have very few player moving at pace to run in behind or with movement that effects the opposition, the only game I saw this was on Wednesday v Gala.
It would also be interesting to see individual stats to see which players are putting the effort and yards in.

The ‘But still’ is doing a lot of hard work there. All those names, to a greater or lesser extent, have only become dependable premier league players (if they have) because they left to get regular team football elsewhere. You don’t get Harry Wilson 2026 if he’d stayed at Liverpool and remained on the periphery of the first team.
That’s not entirely true; at least his daughter has been traveling back and forth between Ibiza, Dubai, and England ever since Slot joined us. Currently, she’s mostly in Ibiza, to be honest. In any case, there’s been no sign of any education or extended stay in the Netherlands for a long time. I only ever see her Instagram posts from who-knows-where. Sometimes she comes to one of our games with friends, and then it’s back to Ibiza pictures.
But perhaps it’s different with his son, whom I never see, not even in Liverpool. Except for the championship celebration.
Perhaps he’s just trying not to be photographed. In any case, they very, very rarely appear anywhere as a family.
To be honest, none of those (and the list should probably include some more names like Kelleher) would have become upper-half-table level of players in PL had they not moved away from Liverpool. You really have to be something special to break into the first team at Liverpool in the past six, seven, eight years.
I do think that Slot could have handled Quansah and Morton better while they were still at Liverpool but I think they probably needed a loan move to clubs of their current level to make that step forward that was needed to become at least dependable squad players at Liverpool.
The issue is when to give these players opportunities at our level, just look what hapens to fans on here if and when we start the lesser players in an early cup round and we lose!
You do have to find space to give players like Nyoni and Morrison chances, this use to happen as part of a functioning team when we were comfortable in games, unfortunately we are never comfortable.
On the other hand, a lot of our players aren’t performing and others injured so for me give some of the youth a try it couldn’t be worse. When watching Nyoni he is an intelligent player and passer of the ball, just lacks strength, give him a try, you never know.
That’s just silly, balls are stupid inert objects, it’s a fact, unless you have been conversing with @SBYM.
Quansah should be starting at CB for Liverpool. He won that job off Konate under Klopp and lost it in 45 minutes under Slot. He didn’t need to move on to go up a level, he already was at that level.
I’m at the age where I don’t really care about “win at all costs” anymore. I’m at peace having seen this club win every trophy possible. What I enjoy now is watching journeys. I get the club don’t get the luxury of seeing it that way but I don’t work for the club so fuck it I get to daydream about a bunch of lads who came through the academy and were given the chances to maximise their potential at the club.
I know Morton and Wilson weren’t in position to become first team regulars when they left but doesn’t change the fact that they would have proven useful at various times this season and I reserve the right to play fantasy football and put them in a fictional team rather than having players like Chiesa come off the bench.
Quansah though. That stings. Selling him wasn’t a mistake, it was an act of vandalism.
And bullying in the way he treated him, a young player and junior player in age and experience, and after only 45 minutes and done nothing of the like to underperforming players since!
