They beat us on penalties. Overall they were the better side, but it was hardly a football lesson
Yeah. The second leg was VERY different than the first. We weren’t as dominant in it as PSG were in the first, but a loss was very much against the run of play and chances created.
Hopefully not, he has broken so many records here and I don’t mean in a positive way.

Things are improving though. I mean, yesterday was the earliest we’ve scored in an away PL game all season. Only took 30 minutes.
No Liverpool striker has scored in the first half of an away PL game this season.

That’s honestly not how I remember it, and I’m pretty sure I said at the time how far behind them we were, particularly in that first leg.
Back then it had been a while since I was confidentially saying that a PL or English side wasn’t on the same level.
They were much better than us in the first leg. Elliott’s goal was practically a robbery. It was almost roles reversed in the return leg at Anfield. We weren’t as dominant as PSG were in the first leg but we were unlucky to lose in 90 minutes.
Elliott and Quansah would have been nice to have had this season.
Yeah we were the better team in the second leg.
Of the last 21 points available, Spurs have got 1…

Thank you for filling in the gap ![]()
There are a number of former academy players who would have been nice to have - Elliott, Quansah, Tyler Morton, Neco Williams, Harry Wilson, Sepp van den Berg,
We can debate whether the likes of Morton, Williams or Wilson would have become the players they are today if they stayed here but still.
Hopefully we give the current batch time to see if they can make it here. Nyoni and Morrison, for example, could definitely become Premier League regulars - we shouldn’t panic though if that takes them until the age of 22/23 to get there.
Because his kids are settled and in key stages of their education.
It must be very tough for him and a big distraction too. His eldest is 18 years old, must be doing the HBO or preparing for the end of VWO . His youngest kid looks around 15 years old, probably still doing VMBO/HAVO/VWO.
Hopefully not, he has broken so many records here and I don’t mean in a positive way.
Mostly throughout his professional life, the expectations of him were not very very high. Feyenoord winning the Eredivisie was largely born out of no pressure. Before Slot took over Feyenoord, that club was at 5th position.
After he took over, he got 3rd in his inaugural season and 12 points away from the top. Nobody is expecting his team to win it the next season.
His second season was the championship winning one but his European record’s highest level was the QFs of the Europa league. His third season saw his team finish 7 points behind the league champions but his European record saw him get third in the UCL group stages and got knocked out in the Europa league playoffs.
He is still being seen as a legend in Feyenoord history.
Once he got to Liverpool, it is a whole different set of expectations and the media glare is way more intense. Fortunately for him, the team took to his fitness approach well that seems to be a tad less physically intense compared to Klopp’s heavy fitness approach, leading to a better half season with as little injuries as possible. It also helped that Arsenal and Man City wobbled really badly half-way through the season.
Somewhere around in May 2025, it seems that something changed in Slot’s psyche after being crowned champions. In my opinion, he began to think his approach was the key factor that led to LFC steamrollering their for nearly 3/4 of the season. His approach to standards started to wane towards the last 4 matches of the league that set up the chain of events leading to now. At this point, he never had to face any real pressures to the job in the face of adversity.
Thinking his approach is right during the victories in pre-season, he continued his usual approach to conditioning and fitness. Given by the amount of money poured into the club in THAT transfer window, it wouldn’t be too far to expect a proper defence of the league title and a far deeper run into the UCL (possibly the semis).
It didn’t take too long for the cracks to start showing. He started the season with a collapse to CP for the community shield. A hail mary in Chiesa was needed to overcome Bournemouth on the opening day, we needed an opposition red card and a hail mary in Rio to overcome NUFC, we needed a Szobo set-piece rocket to win AFC, we needed a penalty to win Burnley despite peppering their goal like mad,
The match against the bitters was ironically the most convincing win without the need for any hail marys or a wonder set-piece despite the match being pretty equal. That also marked the end of the longest run of victories (5) for us as of now.
The lack of stamina, the lack of proper coaching and bizarre tactics started to raise its ugly head starting with a 5 match losing run after the match with the bitters. This is still being seen now.
The one factor that did him in is that he never had to face true adversity in his coaching career with huge expectations on him like what LFC have on him. This job may have been too early and too much for him to handle at this stage of his career.
After Liverpool, he still have a chance at the decently strong sides of top 5 leagues in the world. That will be his only chance to being one of the top 20 head coaches in the world. If he fucks it up, then he will probably slide into oblivion…
Even if we forget yesterday’s diastrous dispaly. Slot must be sacked because of the display and result between Spurs and Forest. We won only one point from our last 3 games vs. the mighty Wolves, almighty Spurs and best team in the world BHA… Letting Arne killing our season will be FSG’s fault from now on. Even if Xabi says no, the club will have at least 2 decent options to replace our cluless manager - Rob Page and Stevie Gerrard. I am sure that even King Kenny will do a better job for the final 10 matches of our season.

Slot left the country yesterday. Not really an indication for him to be sacked…
Where was Rodgers when he was sacked?
Not in the Netherlands and surely not in Ibiza.
Evidently he isn’t getting the sack anyhow, if they don’t do it in the summer they are making the mistakes Man Utd made on ETH mind.
Where was Rodgers when he was sacked?
Melwood, I think, after returning from Goodison.
