Arne Slot - Head Coach

Hard to disagree with that. Onwards and upwards.

I think when an opposition takes us out of our comfort zone we get nervous. The distance between our lines goes to pot as 9 players get stuck in defensive mode and 2 carry on pressing till they can not keep it up anymore.
This in turn perhaps suggests a lack of confidence in the system. It’s also an individual matter where we haven’t the players to play how we play. Gravenberch is a glaring example. He shirks responsibility an awful lot. He was great when we kept a good high press going and he could nip in with interceptions, now he needs to be more physical and just won’t do it.

If the system is THIS brittle, and has been proven over and over again, then how can it be fit for purpose?

I’m thinking about the match today. So we get hammered by Man Cheaty, Virgil say’s the players gave up and Slot is still here. All this after a thoroughly shit season.
If we get hammered again tonight and he keeps his job how are we all feeling then? Are they going to the summer no matter what happens? I haven’t been this negative about the club since Roy was here. How we are still 5th in the league is a bloody miracle, but maybe that’s the only reason?

I don’t think enough has been made of what VVD said.

In all my time following football, and it’s a long time, I can never recall a player for any club saying what Virg said.
To openly state the players “gave up” is off the fucking scale.
Has Slot addressed it, or been asked about it? Because in any other industry employees ‘giving up’ would be reason for management to step in and take action.
What a sorry state this club is in right now.

Good point @jaffod. I thought was a strange comment to make by the Captain of the team. Then, in today’s press conference Flo disagreed with what Virgil said. :see_no_evil_monkey:

end it

It’s up to the club to end it. Slot won’t walk away from a few million. And neither should he.

He shouldn’t or maybe he should? Embarrassing himself now the longer it goes. I’m convinced he’s damaging his own career now and clubs will think twice before bringing him in.

Alonso is signed, sealed and almost delivered.

My guess is they pull the trigger next week if we exit CL. Didn’t say if - I mean when.

So you think they didn’t sack him after Brighton (when a new man would have three weeks to prepare for the next league match) because the hierarchy thought ‚let’s wait. Maybe Slot wins the FA Cup or even the CL’

Doubt it.

Yeah, everyone’s going through the motions at this point and it’s painful to watch.

I went to a gym class at half time. I don’t think I have ever done that before during an LFC match.

So I am about to watch the Barca/AM mini match instead of our 2nd half.

That says it all.

As usual, during a match, Slot feels happy with the score line (1-0 down to PSG, so prgamatically, it is a good situation considering our form).

Slot then tends to let the game drift, and only reacts after conceding another goal.

Surprised that you stayed with the match over the weekend when we got hammered by City.
