Just looking at the table, if Villa and United both loose their next match in the league and we win ours we’re 4th or even 3rd depending on goal difference. WTF!!! 
I think if we finish in CL places then Arne is here next season.

That’s the horrible realisation when I saw the table…he might be given another chance next season due to his opponents fucking up…

He gets another year, based on the last 16 months, don’t even want to think of what that would do to us!
You do know that unless you win every single match, you do need your competitors to fuck up right in order for you to climb up the table. Even the league winners almost every season needed someone to fuck up.
Nothing wrong with criticising the team for it’s overall performances this season but If we end up in CL places climbing higher than 5th, then let’s give the team credit where it’s due.
Don’t criticise for the sake of it.

I don’t think CL qualification alone will necessarily save Slot, he does have to also convince the management somehow he can turn this around. It’s gonna be a difficult conversation.

I think Slot will go whatever. I do not understand the family still being in Holland. Okay school etc but who would do their best work when away from family?
I think he will go home. It works for both parties. Alonso was first choice and is available. So it’s not time to dither like Man U with Ten Haag, Amorim etc.
Slot was a continuity choice to continue Klopps style. It’s now time for a new era.

Football management is different to normal life though. You can be flavour of the month one minute and sacked the next. He only had a 3 year deal and to uproot his kids to another school with a different language for a relatively short period and then move them back is a difficult thing to do. I think Slot has lots of questions to answer, but why he didn’t force his kids to move to a new school and re start in a new language isn’t one of them in my view.

Firstly I never mentioned Klopp and deliberately try not to.
Secondly I didn’t mention a midfield rebuild. It was a DM or OTHER midfielders. As it stands we haven’t the balance on midfield to play the system Slot has reverted to, whatever that is?
The point is for me Gravenberch was excellent when we pressed well. He made many good interceptions then moved the ball on. As it is now he hasn’t the physical game to make what we might be doing count. Also his more ‘adventurous’ role isn’t working as he’s to limited. He on occasion breaks the line however he never manages to orient the game after. He doesn’t even find our playmaker.
None of our midfielders are natural DMs so something needs changing. Go back to what we were doing at the beginning of last season, which would be more difficult than what one might think or follow the flow and change.
Slot often said the players aren’t playing the way he instructs. Surely that’s because he hasn’t the players to play that way. Whatever that way is?

I said in another thread we are still in for 3rd and if lucky even 2nd .
Yet there’s those that don’t feel the EPL has fallen in quality . I just see Manure above us and think wtf .

He wouldn’t last another year if the form of the last 16 months continued.
Even then the rebuild wasn’t complete - we brought in Endo as an emergency signing because we didn’t have time to bring in a proper replacement for whichever of our midfielders was last to leave (Hendo?)
I think this was a comment aimed more at showing changes would be more evolutionary rather than ripping everything up like we would have had to do had Amorim come in instead and implement his 343 system. There were always going to be some tweaks to the way we play. Even under Klopp there had been a notable attempt to bring a more possession based focus into the team.
Last night the team in 16th place went to the ground of the team in 3rd and played them off the park. They should have been four up at half time.
I don’t think the league has fallen in quality. I think it’s the opposite. There are no shite teams in this league.
It’s ridiculous that after the season we’ve had, we’re are fifth and still have chance of finishing third. But the teams around us cannot put the hammer down and pull away, because they are coming up against teams lower down the league who are giving them a game (which might also go some way to accounting for our troubles)

If we win the CL, Arne Slot is on a banner on the Kop and keeps his job, whatever else happens.
Surely, even the most vociferous Slot Out campaigners want us to win the CL?
I am leaning very much towards replacing Slot, the football is turgid at times and expectation is low. But I would like No 7.
This conversation will self ignite tonight unless we win on aggregate
