Once I got over the embarrassment at being from the same country as someone who would do something so cringeworthy, I tried to figure out any form of logic to this as a motivation tool. A decade later I still can’t.
“Don’t be in the envelope”. How the fuck can whoever you’ve put in the envelope not be in the envelope?

The idea, as best I understand it, is that by keeping the names to himself he is saying there is still an opportunity for those players to prove him wrong. 30-40% of the squad might have had a reasonable concern that they were one of the players, and would take it as a challenge to work hard to prove him wrong.
It’s silly and manipulative. Some potential to work in the short term but the players will tire of that sort of thing in short order. And that probably describes Brendan pretty well.

i used to cringe at rodgers, but hes childs play compared to mikel Brent with his playing the anfield crowd through some speakers (im still not sure i didnt dream that and its out of ted lasso or something) to hiring a pick pocket at a team dinner …
im actually laughing typing this… i know im miles off any level those lads play at, but i cant help imagine some of the teams ive played in and what the reactions would have been…LOL…

Slot is doing an excellent job. I can understand his tactics and players are improving.
It’s his 1st season and he has a lot to learn about English football. At times he gets it wrong however with time I feel he’ll get much better at how to approach each game or what changes to make.
I’m over the moon with our performance so far this season.
You’d have to be much more miserable, désagréable and grumpy than me to bé getting wound up over anything this season.
I’m one hell of a grumpy bastard yet there seems to be worst out there.
