Does this mean someone placed 65k on a yellow card for Xhaka with 10 minutes to go and won around 166k?
Klopp said on 14 Jan: “Yesterday, he was outside running and looked really good, so I think he will not be too far away." Physio table has a potential return of 10 Feb.
Thiago potential return date was moved back a day to 6 Feb.
The confusing thing is how a player who plays so little misses so many games through injury.
Through injury??!!
I think we will have most possession of the ball.
I would like to see Tsimikas at right back, he is tecnical more giftet than Robertson.
Trent Konate VVD Robertson
Fabinho
Henderson Curtis
Jota Firmino Takumi
Will this be the starting XI? We have a crucial league game on 23rd and only Matip and Tsimikas can provide fresh legs for that game.
I guess that apart from maybe starting Kelleher between the sticks, it is the likely one. We are down to bare bones in midfield and attack, so there is no other realistic alternative (apart from Milner, who is more likely to come off the bench around the 70th minute mark).
Hopefully Ox will be ready by the Palace game to provide additional pair of fresh legs on Sunday.
I’d prefer he play Left back personally…
What we might do, since we have had 3 games in more or less our best XI and we still have Palace on the weekend before the international break…
We might change half of the team for the weekend.
Since LFC had a players’ interview with Kelleher yesterday, it may be a little signal for who starts in goal tonight.
Say, Kelleher tonight/Alisson for Palace. One of Konate/Matip tonight, the other for Palace. One full back backup for Palace, probably Tsimikas. Milner and Ox back for Palace. That would be half a team and well spread out over the pitch.
We’ll see what’s up with Matip, would he play 3 games in a row or we put him back against Palace.
Before the first leg, the LFC socials put up their pre-match image thingy with Kelleher, and Ali still started.
of course, you‘re right
I’m sure that Jürgen and his team will know the personnel, formation and tactics to see us through this game. COYR YNWA
Arsenal are building up a decent young side. They have spent money along the way, a fair amount, but it is younger players who are becoming more important for them. They have backed Arteta through a couple of wobbles too.
They are now as good as the worst it got under Wenger, when Arsenal fans wanted his head on a plate. How times have changed!
Part of me still doesn’t care too much about this, our fourth priority. The prize money for winning it, £100k, says a lot about its place in grand scheme of things when compared to say, £2.5M for winning a Champions League group game.
It will take an enormous effort against Arsenal and then Chelsea at Wembley to lift the cup. But on the other hand it has been a while since we went to Wembley, and with the prospect of silverware in sight, you have to fight for it.
Once the whistle blows it will be into them reds.
We will miss our AFCON players and that will hurt us, and it frustrates no end that Origi is injured when we need him.
Hard to say what the result will be today, it will be tight.
I care about this because I want us to win, simple as. But very importantly as well, it also shows that our squad is actually deep enough to win something, having powered through the earlier stages with some of our bigger names having been rested.
Best sticking with Eintracht pal
I won’t be around tonight to do the post match thread.
Would anyone else like to take it on?
Not feeling very confident for some reason. Hopefully just the nerves kicking in…
Saw it already but according to the current pre match protocol @kone has to be the one to post the official starting lineup.
Edit: he’s reliable as always.
Again, I’ll take the hit on this one…
Gordon is an interesting selection, was pretty sure Taki would start this one.
