Aston Villa v Liverpool FC (EPL 15-05-26 8pm)

As no-one else has started a Villa v Liverpool thread,

I thought i would give it a go…

I’ll try and keep it short and sweet…

Our season starts now!

Lets not fuck it up…

I want to reply with something, so did…

It’s difficult to say how this will go, as we are both very inconsistent at the moment. A win would guarantee us 4th. Villa must also have an eye on the Europa final which I hope they win.

I’ve not decided where to watch it yet, but it’s likely to be in a bar full of grumpy Scousers.

I’d be happy with a draw but we’re winning this. One of our many bad spells this season surprisingly came to an end against them in Novemver with a very good performance and a clean sheet for a change.

I assume I will see how long we last until we go behind, painfully I watched all of Saturday which was the first in a while, Man Utd went off at 2-0. 2 goals seems to be my limit.

No pressure

More than one point would be a bonus within a bonus thread.

The most important match of the season!

Just to contradict @RedWhippet we have been incredibly consistent this season … another bore fest, well for me a snore  fest just hoping I don’t get woken by Villa fans making noise.

I reckon we’re fucked and will be left counting on Leeds holding/beating Brighton and City beating Bournemouth to avoid going into the final day biting our fingernails.

Disjointed, dispirited, outfought in general and gassed in particular. Emery is going to eat Slot’s lunch for him and wish him a very good ebening.

It’s clear to me that no amount of booing or cheering is gonna change the outcome of things.

I’m going up to the Lake District on Thursday for a few days. Usually, if Liverpool are playing, I’ll find a pub where I can watch the game. Not this time, I’m afraid. I’m not wasting two hours of my time watching another display of insipid football and highly paid players, failing to give 100%. I don’t remember a time, when I’ve had to say this before.

@Hope.in.your.heart & @WooltonRed

Am joking of course but not watching because we’re shit at the moment is not an option.

They do give 100% however they only fit enough to do it for 60% of the game while the other 40% of the time they give approximately 90%, therefore I guess you are right as they are only giving 96.67% if you watch the entire game.

This.

I’m hoping we get the points against Villa and Slot’s departure, via mutual consent, is announced. Then we can have a week of fuss discussing it and so on, but then the last day of the season draws a line under a turd of a campaign.

We say goodbye to Slot and thank him for the title, and we also say goodbye to one or two club legends and thank them for their huge contribution on the pitch.

Alonso is announced quickly, and all of a sudden, new life starts to breathe into it again as we are intrigued by the possibilities ahead, rather than half dreading a power start and an October departure for Slot.

Edit
This might be too much to hope for. Perhaps a manager’s lot is to not always get the nice goodbye on the pitch, but rather to receive his marching orders in the office.

I do hope we get 5th just as I can’t imagine if we don’t and Anfield on the final day…

I’ll miss it as I will be all at sea… well, heading towards Rotterdam to get on the ship. I’ll catch up later.
