Add in an Isak and Guehi and it starts to look like a net spend over 250m
There is sort of a positive feedback element to it as well. There is now ample evidence that players in the fringes of our first team are good enough to play in the PL. it reshapes the discussion away from wondering which team will give us money for player X to our reserves being a reliable source every summer for a collection of 10-12 premier league clubs looking to bolster their ranks
Yeah Chelsea have been booking large fees for their unwanted players for years. I think FSG feel this is an important part of financial competition.
May still have Tsimi and Harvey off before the window closes. If that happens, net spend probably ends up under ÂŁ200M.
Wouldnât surprise me if we donât finish top of the net spending for the summer. Take in the following January we certainly wonât.
Arsenal are currently top because they cant sell anyone.
At this rate , every team apart from the cheating chelski side would spend more than us.
If you consider the previous two transfer windows where we spent fuck all and the winter window after this where we will spend fuck all.
We are fine. Cheaty routinely do a 250m window every season (thatâs with the cash which is accounted)
I wonder how the wage bill looks like/will look like come the end of the transfer window (I assume that agent fees will be through the roof if Isak and Guehi deals get done). Of those who left or are expected to leave, only TAA and, to an extent, Darwin and Diaz earned comparatively big wages.
Wages for Mo , Virgil and Alisson will be off the list soon too.
Do think the club would feature this into the play.
Rest all are in long term contracts, the trio are likely to leave after 2 years.
And even if the three stick around , itâs because itâs more expensive to replace them rather than it is to pay their wages
Had we heard about a buy-back clause before? Glad this is something weâre putting in these sales of promising kids.
Good move for him, especially when you see the clubâs recent history of young signings and how theyâve progressed.
Hope he tears it up down there and puts plenty of fullbacks on their backsides.
Good move all round. Good luck to Ben Doak! Iâm glad he stayed in the Prem. Bournemouth are a nice club with a good manager and I look forward to seeing how he goes.
Asked the question the other day about buy-back or sell-on clauses. Delighted we have the option to buy him back in the future. Would be a healthy possibility to turn to when we eventually need to sort out the right wing due to Salah and Chiesaâs time at the club coming to an end.
The fact that we are not far off what we valued him at shows that other clubs rate him too. Bournemouth is a proper mid table club.
Everton wanted him and we were quoting 30m.
Glad he went Bournemouth instead of there.
