He’s not a bidder. He has signed a legally binding acquisition agreement. All these negotiation tactics being discussed are things that are supposed to happen during the bidding and negotiation process. Not after the agreement is signed.
Note that also one of the terms in the SIGNED Acquisition agreement was that Musk would refrain from public comment that would hurt the image (and price) or the company.
Dan Price - you might not know the name, but Im sure you’ve seen something of him. The young multi-millionaire founder CEO who has made a brand for himself as the caring boss who leaves money on the table for himself so his team can be paid and treated better. He (constantly) advocates for all the things your standard anti-corporatist lib does - reduction in the ratio of CEO to median worker pay, more PTO, more ability to actually use PTO (as opposed the American system of still kind of needing to be available).
Turns out he was an awful self-entitled narcissistic prick as well
I think I read somewhere that he said that he definitely has enough money to live comfortably but I am not sure so he is not hypocritical to the point that to make it like he is gonna suffer after giving away his company. For billionaires who are fortunate to be in this position, probably the most balanced thing they could do for them and family is like what Buffett said he wants to give his children enough money for them to do anything but not enough for them to do nothing . Then give the rest of money for the good of the world.
Let me guess. When Musk is ignored and told to keep his nose out of business he has no reason getting involved in he will throw his toys out of the pram and start throwing unfounded insults and abuse at the Ukrainian governent like he did with the Thai cave rescue?
That’s a weird framing from the BBC. The response was not because he polled people, it was because his personal opinion is so proRussia. He stated that the imperative is on Ukraine to sue for peace and that they should give up claim to Crimea to achieve that.
Crimea was Russian, going back to Krushchev’s gifting it to Ukraine in the 50’s.
But then, Russia re-claims it by force in 2014 and annexes it. Ukraine is fairly complicit in the seizure of Crimea by Russia, especially odd because the president of Ukraine was strongly supported by the autonomous region of Crimea (even though it was primarily Russian speaking).
If Russia had stopped there, we wouldn’t be here right now. But I’d not be surprised to learn that Zelenskyy stops the counter-offensive and leaves Crimea with Russia in order to end the war once he clears UA lands of the invading force.
