Nah, those days are gone - sold everything, packed what furniture and stuff we had left into a container, and got the feck out of America and back to Ireland. Where hops, alas, seem to be worth more than gold (if the local craft IPAs have aything to go by!)

Getting there. The pace of life here is much better, and our daughter hasn’t had to do active shooter drills in school, so there’s that. I do miss our old “lifestyle” and all the goodies like motorbikes and nice cars, but the good for our daughter outweighs all that. (And honestly, looking at the state of the US right now… phew!)

This is nice to hear, your daughter will have a better quality of life, nearer to Europe, no costly university fees, EU citizenship. It takes time to get used to the new lifestyle. You all will get there. Also, family and friend support is great.
With regards to US politics, think you got out in time. I have US cousins who want to leave, but are stuck there.

Freedom movement, no queues atvaiport immigration, applying for jobs with no red tape, buying or renting a place in South Francevor Spain, better choice of foodstuffs, cheaper materials for building, EU medical and social care personnel , making our services better

My opinion of him wouldn’t change. I’d just hate him more , and probably lose all interest in football in much the same way that I no longer have any real interest in politics.
