I did not realize until this morning how terrible the Cybertruck is snow. We are seeing our 2nd major snowstorm of 40cm or so in the last 72 hours, roads aren’t great. To get to the pool this morning, I was driving through 10-15 cm that has fallen overnight, on top of a compacted base from Friday. Careful driving, but AWD not a big deal.

Dude with a Cybertruck lives in a huge house at the end of a one-way street that slopes up. He couldn’t get up the hill! As I was going by, he gave up and drove out the no-entrance end on to the parkway.

So much for off-road capability. As it turns out, it is a very common complaint.

Honestly though I’d expect a significant overlap between people who buy that trash and people who don’t actually know how to drive properly in snow.

The most sane Trump supporter.

Very normal, very stable.

EDIT: Also, is he a billionaire? If not, surely it’s the wrong thread and it should belong in the “completely irrelevant people” thread?

According to Wikipedia he was worth $1.8 billion in 2021. Seemingly, this may have dropped since due to sponsors like Adidas disowning him over his idiosyncratic opinions about Jews.

I just can’t get over two very prominent MAGAts publically seig heiling and absolutely nothing happens to them. We even had thrash on this forum defending it.

Near half a century ago, Lee Atwater said you can’t go around calling people n****** anymore, and that they had to be more clever with their rhetoric/strategy. These days, I think they would get away with it.

The entire twitter site appears to be down.

Twitter is a basket case in terms of technical reliability and performance compared to before he bought it. It is astonishing that people can reject concerns about the impact DOGE is having on government by saying with a straight face “well he made the same cuts at twitter and nothing bad happened there”, even if it wasnt utterly absurd to compare the impacts to people from government returning a 404 error compared to a stupid website doing it.

My only thought about DOGE is I think it is increasing the ease of the whole system being hacked. Which wouldn’t bode well for the US or the citizens of the US.
As for X I hope it does go down permanently.

2.77 Bil US dollars in 2025, according to himself.

And it’s baloney. Completely irrelevant ? Maybe. He is mostly irrelevant yes, but the case of Kanye West is in my opinion quite symtomatic with contemporary US dilletante culture, where ultra rich people get away with everything. Sure, he has had major, major backclash, but there are still countless of minions, still countless of people around him. Still, when he walks around with his wife on leash, still there are countless of magazines taking picture. Still, he is invited to exclusive clubs and gatherings.

And this to me is a symptom of what these people get away with. If he was a civil servant, he would be socially and financially dead.

I don’t disagree with a single thing you said.

I’m just trying to starve his attention-seeking of oxygen.

I get you. I usually never talk about him, it’s just that when I saw this, i thought about this thread and “what these people” get away with, which others could only dream of.
