Bradley BARCOLA: 2026/27

Manè could stand still and the opposition were fearful .
It appears that it’s a completely different situation now. Our forwards are often without support these days so limited options. This means they have to try and do it all by themselves.
What made Manè and Salah frightening was they had players they could flick the ball to which stretched the defence. We saw how difficult it was for Salah in his final season with us to congure up something without that support.

We bought psg bench player for £100m. Poor recruitment.

Usually at that price, you are taking one of the teams top 5 player and star player, who is a starter. Like how Isak was to Newcastle.

I remember very few here was interested in Barcola. Slamming Barcola in favor of Yan Diomande.

When Yan said no. And Barcolas name comes up. All of a sudden people here was on board. Finding reasons to support the signing.

Everyone who bashed his flaws earlier. Praised his speed and said his finishing will come.

So i have no patience for him… He Needs to produce and grab this team by the collar and start making his presence felt. Like a £ 100 m player.

My desire was for Douè however Barcola was from what I’d seen (which frankly wasn’t very much) was in the running as well. It’s the market that decides. We seem to have struggled on the recruitment front possibly compounded by manager changes?

Exactly. Same goes fot Wirtz and Isak. Isak slightly different circumstances of course but the result is the same - we’re getting very little return on the money spent.
All 3 need to produce by the end of the season or be shipped out.

I have more faith in isak than the other 2

Me too providing he can stay fit.

Well that’s partly because Salah is older and slow now. Age catches up with us all.

Isak can come up with something really special which makes him interesting however he lacks presence and movement off the ball. So yes he offers something special yet makes it all that more difficult for the team.
A bit of a toss up imo.

What also doesn’t make sense is buying a LW in Barcola when we have munoz, Gakpo and Rio on the left.

Why not just buy a RW to replace salah. There must be one available. Not minteh though lol

Recruitment thought best to let Konate,Salah and Trent go for free. Also rid of Ramsey, Elliot etc among others. And ruin our depth… Then buy 3 £100m plus players. And have no money left. 2 of those players are looking like garbage or dont fit how we play or cant adjust to PL pace and physicality.

And we actually tried to get rid of Macca and Gakpo.

Barcola was just desperation on our part

Which in turn makes producing something without the support and options that much harder. Sure!

Just to be clear… i really hope Barcola succeeds and proves me wrong.

But he is playing like shit right now. Has to do much better.

Yes but Barcola isn’t old

We expect some individual moments from him really

You commented about Salah and the conversation was about Manè and Salah. Why I don’t know.
In the course and context of the conversation your way off here!
I’ll comment on what I specifically feel about Barcola when I have come to some sort of idea. At the moment I think it’s too soon and that most of what’s being said is premature.
We’ll see. What I’m seeing at the moment is a team that’s struggling to have a character and it’s difficult for all the players and do very difficult for the fans. Avoiding knee jerk nonsense should be a priority.

I would agree with this so keeping comments to a minimum might be worthwhile.
What’s important is what’s being said and done behind the scenes between players and players and coaches. We need something to work!

I commented on both taking individual responsibility when young like Barcola needs to do.

I also explained that part of salahs inability to do it last season wasn’t his team mates but the fact he is old and past his best. Not applicable to Barcola

I’m not writing Barcola off. Just saying he needs to start doing that

Ahh! I disagree about Salah, if he’d had the support he would have done much better. The loss of Trent had an enormous effect imo much more than some seem prepared to acknowledge.

Do you think it’s pure coincidence he’s now playing in the Turkish league then?

Out of interest

I think it was that or a Gulf state!
I’m quite surprised a Turkish team could meet his demands, why?

Ah my point

Well he’s there because he’s not good enough to deliver at the top level anymore due to age.

The best teammates in the world wouldn’t change that really
