Bradley Barcola (LW/RW) PSG

Am I the only one who sees the equivalence between Ferran Torres and Alvaro Morata ?

The fact that he got a winning goal in a world cup final doesn’t make him a world class striker. If anything, Ferran Torres moving to PSG for sizable money is in the best interest of the selling club.

I agree. We should not be trying to buy Ferran Torres. Hughes OUT

I don’t think it’s about cash flow. More about not wanting to end up stuck if the replacements fall through.

We spent all season rightly saying it was stupid to sell Quansah until Guehi was 100% done.

Not the pull. It’s the money.

Enrique can resign from PSG and PSG will still be getting the players they want.

We acted too cute leaving it to the last possible day. Spend that extra 5m , getting guehi in earlier immediately after the deal with quansah was done would have been better.

Instead , we went into it with the fucked up notion of pinching pennies.

The same way we fucked up the Lavia deal. Should have gotten in Lavia and then tried for Caicedo

Ah yes, fair point.

I’m not sure if you’re the only one, but I don’t see enough similarities.

I’m ambivalent. I can see why a manager at a top European club might though.

Nah. His performances with his clubs are middling leading to mediocre.

He only got into the Spanish side because Spain doesn’t rely on out and out strikers.

Tbf we’ve done well out of not getting Lavia. Hes been injured/shite since going chelsea.

Endo meanwhile is actually quite under appreciated, just look at how many points we dropped last season while he was injued during the “Endo minutes” where the year before we held on to results. Sometimes all you really need is a little workhorse to run around and kick people to see out a game. Missed that last season.

But yeah, the Guehi deal was a cock up that we didnt fix properly last season

There’s no guarantee that Lavia would have been injured with us.

At that point of time , he was a wildly rated youngster who was looking for a step up. You can’t use hindsight there.

Ferran Torres is not an upgrade on any of PSGs current wingers, but hes a decent rotational option. Id say this is more about keeping some fresh blood in the team to keep the hunger there. Would be easy for a lot of those PSG lads to feel like they’ve done it all. Some changes to the squad keep all in the right frame of mind as none of them will want away from football’s current golden goose.

Really didn’t mind Endo coming in , he was an astute transfer. But what it really needed was a talent alongside him in the same position

We had so many chances to pull levers from a position of strength and we refused to do that.

We ended up getting ourselves in bidding wars for tchouameni , camavinga , Caicedo etc.

All when those guys were really using us to get the deals they wanted.

I don’t blame liverpool for gravitating towards gravenberch, Dom and macca. But the point was that we made our bed there. We declared it was only Bellingham or bust.

What on earth are you talking about? It was “Bellingham or bust”, yet we bought 3 other players as alternatives to going all in on Jude?

All they are doing is pissing us off and clearly do not want to sell to a CL rival, why not just tell us we don’t want to sell? Well they are dangling the carrot that Barcola wants us but if Arse turned up they would sell to them very readily without the shithousery at the present. IMO we should just move away and concentrate very hard on finding a nugget like Araujo and a couple more forwards. I might be wrong about us wasting time on Barcola as the club probably are also working on a plan B and C in the background . The Guehi wound is still fresh and PSG are opening it back up with a little French fruit knife which is very tough on the supporters.

Hmm, if they see us a CL rivals, they’ll see Arsenal as equally dangerous rivals, don’t you think?

Yes but we have won it 6 times and Arse none though and if we win it again the gap between us and PSG will get larger to plug as clearly they want to catch up to us and Bayern.

Had a pretty good year last season, and his skills set fits with the Spanish model, as you rightly noted…
