The Caicedo “saga” lasted like two days, from my recollection. We shocked everyone with a massive bid, then won the bidding war set by Brighton, and then Caicedo said no thanks shortly thereafter and that was that. All within a very short time frame.
Isak was a saga. One that played out in the media with the player, coaches, owners, and journos getting drawn in. One that went over months - and reached its peak with that amazing game at St. James’ Park that Monday night when Rio announced himself to the world.
The Barcola stuff is nothing by comparison. There’s been very, very little been made public other than our interest and PSG’s valuation.
But we know by virtue of the fact that PSG hasn’t dismissed our interest out of hand and the fact that they wanted Diomande and have bought three forwards this summer that they fully intend to sell Barcola.
