I’ll be fine thanks. I’m just glad that the garden will finally get a good soaking. Until recently we’d been without rain for about five weeks and it’s been somewhat on the hot side. I think this has been the hottest summer I’ve ever had here with temps at nearly 40 at times.

I have to admit this has me perplexed. Originally I thought there’s no way on earth somebody is going to be wrongly convicted of a crime of this magnitude. (While not ignoring past travesties , and knowing that British justice can be an actual oxymoron.) But then the doubts started to creep in almost as soon as she was convicted , and now this. Has anybody else seriously considered that she might be innocent ?

If the children do turn out to be guilty, I’d put the parents in the slammer too.

It seems like a racial hate crime from what i’ve read. Children imitate their parents and if it does turn out to be a racial hate crime , You know where they are getting the ideas in their head.

The statistics show the gun is overwhelmingly more likely to kill you or one of your family than it is to be used in a heroic act of defense. That is what you should be focusing your hopes on never happening.

“but that wont happen to me because I am responsible and know how to use it” is what everyone else thinks as well.

Would you share some reliable links? The international news outlets are at best superfluous.

Searching for those myself.

After Japan it’s the South. The typhoon landed on the weekend but rain hasn’t let up.

Extensive damage to Hainan, China and Northern Vietnam. My home city is flooded, my Mum said it’s the worst typhoon in memory.

In Chiangrai’s Maesai, near the Burmese border, the worst floods in more than half a century reached above knee height in the villages. The older folks are being evacuated to higher 2-storey houses by their neighbours. Been raining nonstop for the last 4 days.
So says my contacts there.

It’s a recurring theme isn’t it? The worst, the biggest, the most rain. I wonder why that is

It’s obviously because those pesky woke snowflake weather forecasters keep sensationalising temperatures and putting them in alarmist colours!

As if they’ve never seen a warm day before!

I’ve just seen a report on the effects of the typhoon in Vietnam. It looks terrible with over 200 fatalities.

I hope your mother and the rest of your family are safe.
