I am actually surprised that in that case evidence of his criminality was suppressed. The shooting officer may not have known who he was shooting, but he did know the vehicle was linked to a firearms incident in the preceding 24 hours. That almost certainly played a role in his assessment of the imminent threat, and not allowing that seems prejudicial to the officer’s defence.

Is there (even) such a thing as “the extreme left”? Lots of people use it as a counter to “the extreme right” - which is tangibly understood in the context of everyday process, but what really is “the extreme left”?

I had to look that up… but does it accurately describe (most/)any of the people it is actually used against?
Apologists of oppressive governments? I think it may have been adopted as a general insult but it’s original use was justified.
