I save that thought for any time I hear someone mysteriously fell out of a window.
March 26 is our Independence Day. We have come a long way since 1971, we still have a long way to go. Long live Bangladesh .
Interesting fact: the majority of “Indian” restaurants in the UK are actually run by Bangladeshi families.
And a fine job they do, too.
As far as I know, the original the Indian restaurants were started by Bangladeshi/Bangali/Bengali seafarers/deckhands mostly from the Sylhet, Noakhali, and Chittagong region.
Khartoum has been liberated and it seems important.
There has been heavy fighting inside this huge city for some time now and it’s semi interesting how it’s not reported about much, since it’s in Africa.
Black (and brown) lives don’t matter… to the western media at any rate.
Most non-white lives, really. When was the last time anyone heard about Burma?
Africans south of Sahara don’t matter to most of the Asian media either, this isn’t unique for the West, really.
Euronews has much more on this than most Asian outlets. Why ? Because it is French and they take an interest in their previous colonies and Francophone Africa.
I really hope this is the beginning of the end for that dictator wannabe.
I doubt it is.
Profoundly encouraging to see Bolsonaro is going to trial for his attempt to subvert Brazilian democracy. Brazil is passing the test that the US failed.
There’s been a strong earthquake in Thailand / Myanmar, which surprises me as I don’t associate that part of the world with earthquakes.
The epicentre was in Myanmar and the magnitude was 7.7, which is a big 'un.
A skyscraper under construction collapsed and there are a lot of people trapped in the rubble.
It looks terrifying. Apparently, the largest felt there for ten years. I’m assuming that the building collapsed as it was still under construction. I hope they find survivors.
I’ve seen several videos of different buildings that have been affected. I think most if not all of those I have seen are still under construction with a fair few casualties (according to my wife, one reported about 40 deaths and 7 people alive).
I’m not sure how well Thai buildings are constructed for handling earthquakes. I’d probably be more confident of surviving one if living in Japan, than Thailand.
This is crazy…

Feel sick in the stomach watching those people on top of the building recording the quake. Doesn’t help that I have a pretty bad fear of heights.
Those swimming pools on the rooftop, will transfer a lot of ‘swaying’ weight once the tremors commence… Top heavy anyway, but once any side movement begins… there is thrust force that takes over… Be like trying to stand a toffee apple up on its stick without it moving
