Someone started a trend, painting a red cross on a white roundabout I think was the catalyst, and here we are.
I saw the red paint on the roundabout down the road, then it was red gaffer tape on some white traffic furniture. This morning it was just spray paint on a tree.
Of course, I’m seeing way more actual flags than usual, too.
The social media I have seen is all about patriots not standing for it any more etc etc. I’d imagine Elon would be pulling himself silly over them ‘making a stand’. I’ve seen some analysis that it is just as much about sparking a confrontation in the moment as it is about making a point. I have no doubt that is true, the gammons are probably pissed off there weren’t any large-scale riots this summer.

Outside of sport, I can’t recall ever seeing flags worn like that here, like a cape, but maybe I haven’t been paying attention.
Quite common in Australia, a few years ago they tried to stop it at the Big Day Out, a massive travelling music festival. The tour was always around Australia Day and hyper-aggro blokes were causing trouble to show how proud they were to be Aussie. Totally logical.

Can’t really find myself sympathising much. No doubt all about tax avoidance. Nothing illegal of course but if it seems too good to be true then it invariably is.

Note that this is not the first time Russia has purposfully flown it’s armed drones inside both Romanian and Polish air space (by skirting it and challenging NATO, they make the job of air defence much harder), but this is the first time they have chosen to fly an entire attack wing of them over Poland towards Ukraine.

Definitely not a mistake. It’s testing the line to see what NATO does.
Europe needs to arm, as a matter of priority. An independent deterrence is needed, decoupled from America.
