Doesn’t the Uk have a long relationship with Bahrain or assets in the region? I assume it is a reference to that?
I agree but it is feels like a convenience. In that as there is an understanding that the Uk will “take care” of shielding Bahrain and Uk assets there, it then conveniently allows the US to concentrate resource elsewhere.
Maybe I’m being too cynical.

US is hunting Iranian T-1 leaders. Khamenei might or might not be dead right now. Head of Revolutionary Guards, minister of defence and head of intelligence seems to be dead.
And no moves ongoing to close the Hormuz Straits.
It’s possible that the US got some cas on the hits on their bases, but Irans problem is that already, missile salvos are lower and lower and sequenced multi-salvo launched is about to get impossible to launch.
