Brighton vs Liverpool: FA Cup Fourth Round: Sunday, January 29, 1:30 PM

Maybe I’m biased but I don’t think he needs much leverage here, especially since if he’s that good then he’ll definitely get that move sooner rather than later. I appreciate that it’s not always easy to see that when you have a limited career span, but that’s just my perspective…

Well we cant play Bournemouth every week Maria.

Got them again next week, feels a bit like Groundhog Day.

Anyhow no cup upsets this weekend and the way we’ve been playing if we won it will be an upset :joy:

Konate and Gomez forming a bit of a solid partnership :ok_hand:

Put Núñez in we need his speed and determination.

Hope it’s not the same Elliott on the left shite that was on display against Chelsea, that didn’t look good.

And can we have Matip back in for Gomez, please?

Brighton going with Lamptey at RB, Gross in midfield with Mac, March and Mitoma on the sides and two up top, I presume Welbeck as second striker behind/alongside Ferguson.

I have faith that they can be our future.

Elliot wide left is a strange selection. Not doing the kid any favours.

No Nunez ffs.

Less confident now, hopefully he gets at least 30. No pace up front again.

Last time we saw Matip he put in a horror show of a performance.

The Gomez/Konate partnership haven’t conceded a goal for two games.

If we play Matip, Konate has to shift to the left.

Unfair on Kelleher imo

Gomez wasn’t great either in his last 2-3 games, despite having clean sheets. Made some incredibly stupid fouls against Chelsea.

Matip isn’t in great form (and maybe showing signs of slowing down, don’t think he’ll get a new contract here), but I think we know who is the better player on paper.

It’s fine if Klopp wants to go with a new first choice patnership while Virgil is out, I’m just not convinced by Gomez at all this season (last he looked good was against City and last season in the odd game or two at RB).

Konate can play both RCB and LCB, so it’s no problem. What I don’t get, why do we play Gomez at LCB when he’s partnered with Konate. There’s no way he’s our 2nd choice CB in the pecking order.

Could it have to do with offering Trent more protection? Maybe.

am assuming that Nunez is not fit to start that our wonder kid ( in some dreams ) is staring again

Is there a broadcaster? I was sure I saw this was on the BBC?

Sadly, it is Elliot again on the left.

The whole world could see he shouldn’t be a left winger. Damn…why can’t we be a little inventive and switch to a diamond with 2 uptop as it suits our current no press gameplay.

No reason for Brighton to change tactics despite the saga with Moises. They’ll look to feed Mitoma to run at us at every opportunity.

We’ve had some days on the training pitch, so hopefully the backroom staff have plans in place to deal with it.

Want Gakpo to be more agressive as well, rather than the languid style he seems to settle into at times. If he’s the focal point of the attack, then with our fullbacks he should be bursting to get in place for a header.

He’ll probably score now.
