Bundesliga / German NT

Yeboah are a usically name in Ghana, the home country of Königsdörffers father.

Stuttgart turned down at least three offers by Bayern to sign Nick Woltemade. Last one was around €65m including bonus.

Not sure if that will still go through but if not I have a strong feeling they will regret it.

Anyway time for the match.

Inside Bayern, the atmosphere is turning volatile.

High-profile leaders in the dressing room are furious with the club’s transfer strategy, convinced that the squad is far too thin in both numbers and quality to compete for international honours. Behind closed doors the verdict is harsh, as many admit that this squad is built to fall short on the biggest stage.

A group of senior players even went directly to the higher-ups, voicing their concerns and warning that the squad, as it stands, is nowhere near Bayern’s ambitions. The response from the board was cold and dismissive, with the message that squad-building is not the players’ business.

The frustration among the leaders is real, and some of Bayern’s biggest names have already indicated that if the club fails in Europe again, they will seriously consider leaving next summer. Inside the dressing room, players know and openly recognize that the board has given up on competing with Europe’s elite, as international success is no longer treated as a priority.

The board, however, remains unmoved, holding the view that the Bundesliga is the main target and that the current squad is more than enough to deliver it. With the leadership refusing to act, the rift is growing deeper, players demanding more while the board settles for less, and inside Säbener Straße there is an increasing fear that this divide could define not only the season but also the future direction of the club.

:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

“It’s probably one of the smallest squads I’ve ever played in,” said the 32-year-old on Saturday evening after winning the Supercup against VfB Stuttgart (2-1).

Same old story. Divas throwing hissy fits, crusty old legends being dicks, entitled fans demanding everything, slavering media stirring the shit and kissing ass.
Welcome to FC Hollywood. The soap opera as predictable as a puking American at Oktoberfest and half as entertaining.
Bunch of dicks.

“online personality” :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

The Bundesliga has made history by granting live UK broadcasting rights to YouTuber Mark Goldbridge’s That’s Football channel, alongside BBC, The Overlap, Sky Sports, and Amazon Prime. The deal starts with Bayern Munich vs. RB Leipzig this Friday, covering 20 Friday night games in a watch-along format for the 2025-26 season.

The BBC have also announced their part in this (minus the personality) Bundesliga: BBC Sport secure rights to show German top-flight matches - BBC Sport

We can’t watch mens British football matches on the British Broadcasting Corporation due to the costs but we now get 1 Bundesliga match a week :clinking_beer_mugs::germany:

The sorts of old men who delight in telling us ungrateful youngsters that they gave their lives for us in the war (despite still being alive to make those comments and having been born too late to have enlisted) would be turning in their graves

It’s because the Premier league have priced out the free to air broadcasting though there is talk of them getting a select number of games. Surprised the FL haven’t expanded their broadcast to a game a week on ITV.

Problem with this is sticking it away somewhere that fans can’t access. Friday night and 5.30 on Saturday are probably the two slots I watch (especially if it’s a Man City or Arsenal match on Sky).

Shame looks like Amazon will have the relegation play off and Sunday afternoon which could also be a time to watch.

How has this news landed in Germany? Barely a ripple, I imagine?

Fair play to him…he found his niche and exploited it.

Did lol when I heard though…he is constantly railing against the hipsters who watch Bundesliga…

Noted Amazon have got PPV which is just baffling, well it’s not because they are greedy bastards.

Down at my local supermarket they’re talking of nothing else. Once they heard my accent, shoppers crowded around me, asking if I knew the great man and whether I could arrange an introduction. Gangs of youths in Goldbridge t-shirts are hanging around in the u-bahn doing hilarious impersonations of their hero’s reactions when United concede, and there’s been a 500% rise in the number of babies, both male and female, being called Mark.
