Bundesliga / German NT

I’m actually in Bremen visiting my son on Saturday, but I think the kick-off is 15:30, isn’t it? I’ll probably be watching on Sky at home by the time it’s on. Are you going?

I just heard this in the media and I think it really needs to be acknowledged. Nagelsmann has personally and publicly apologized to Deniz Undav for his harsh words towards him. I’m still not a Nagelsmann fan, to be honest, but this is surprisingly positive for a change.

Uli Hoeneß on the difference between Vincent Kompany and Thomas Tuchel:

“Two things are important. This coach [Kompany] makes every player better. And I’ve never seen him conduct a press conference where he said: I need a left-back, I need a right-back, as was the case under Tuchel. When the team didn’t play well, he [Tuchel] never questioned himself; it was always the team’s fault: 'That right-back isn’t working, Kimmich isn’t a good player. And [he said] regarding Gravenberch, who now plays in Liverpool: ‘I can’t use him at all.’”. He once asked Stanišić if he could speak German, even though he was born here. So these are all things that are unacceptable. And that’s the big difference"

What did you make of the Red Card decisions? The first one didn’t look that bad, and I was surprised that it was upgraded. The second one did look bad, and I was surprised that it was changed to a yellow.

On my oponion, that a bad decision. The first red card was not a right decision and the second red card was rightly changed to yellow.

Crowd trouble mars Bundesliga derby between Werder and Hamburg SV

BREMEN, Germany, April 18 (Reuters) - Hamburg SV fans lit flares and fires in the stadium and clashed with police at the end of Werder ‌Bremen’s 3-1 win over their visiting northern rivals in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

With both teams battling to avoid the drop, tensions ran high on and off the pitch and Hamburg finished the game with 10 players. Both Hamburg’s and Werder’s assistant coaches were also sent off in stoppage time.

Straight after the final whistle, Hamburg fans lit flares and fired projectiles across the pitch and into the stands of the home fans, while also lighting fires, before police moved in to clear the tribune, clashing with ‌the visiting fans.

Some of the flares flew not far from Werder players still on the pitch at the time.

“When boundaries are crossed, that doesn’t belong on the football pitch,” Werder coach Daniel Thioune, who has also coached Hamburg in the past, said at the post-match press conference.

“The risk of injury was very high. I saw that some things hit the players next to us.”

The win lifted Werder to 31 points in 14th, level with 13th-placed Hamburg, with four matches left in the season.

Serge Gnabry injured and it looks like he will be out for the WC. Nagelsmann had him as a clear starter in the #10 / 2nd striker role.

Clarmont in France had a female manager of the men’s team about 10 years ago, but she quit fairly early in the season due to feeling it was a publicity stunt and that she was being sidelined by male collegues

Bayern Munchen 1:1 Stuttgart @31 minutes so far. Are we supposed to be interested in Stuttgart’s head coach Sebastian Hoeneß. Defensive error by Stuttgart to let Bayern equalised.

Oops. Diaz passed to Jackson and now Bayern is 2:1 ahead.

FFS. It’s my fault in switching over to this match. Bayern is now 3:1 ahead. I am switching it off. :man_facepalming:

Unfortunately reality

In comparsion:

City - Arsenal 1-1

Oddly just the PL and the French League are right amongst the top 10 or so. Scotland’s right as well.

What do you mean MH?

Sorry I meant competitive this season not right.

I watched the Union/Wolfsburg match on Saturday night Sydney time. Love the atmosphere that ground produces and was so pleased to see Union give her a chance as manager.

Marie seemed quite confident on the sideline and whilst not quite the result they were hoping, it would be great if she is a success and has a lengthy run as manager.

I think she’s supposed to be just an interim until the end of the season, as she’s already appointed head coach of their women’s team for next season.

Second Cup semi final about to start. Who will have the ‘honor’ to be beaten by Bayern in the final - Stuttgart vs Freiburg.
