I hope they don’t let themselves get discouraged and just keep playing the way they have been; a goal would certainly have been deserved, though.

Some of those 44 players might never get called up again.

Possibly not. Do international teams still have “B” internationals? I suppose that since full squads and multiple substitutions are allowed, they are rather rendered redundant.

What a lovely story. We need more people like Asamoah in the world

Thanks for this Livvy :clap:t3:

Wirtz was very good in the first half but he faltered in the second along with the rest of the team.

It was made clear again to anyone watching that he is not the type who will try to change the course of a game by himself.

He doesn’t seem to have the personality for that; at least not yet. Maybe, he’ll grow into it.

I do observe here in Germany this phenomenon: Many fans from another clubs, either older generations and young generations, means, Hamburger SV have only a rivalry with FC St. Pauli, but not with SV Werder Bremen. But the ‘Nordderby’ against Werder Bremen are one of the greatest derbies in Germany and until 2020 the most helded fixture in Bundesliga.

In December 2025, one day after the 3-2 victory of Hamburger SV against SV Werder Bremen, during my shopping tour, i has did meet a knowledge person. He is a fan of Arminia Bielefeld. I has did said, the first-leg in the Nordderby was for me ‘the most imoprtant match of the season’. And he answered: ‘Not Pauli?’. For me was this a affront. I has did asked ‘have you in 70 years of your life lived behind the moon?’. And this person are really born 1955.

For me, as a fan of Hamburger SV, is the Nordderby against SV Werder Bremen the ‘wahre Derby’.

SC Freiburg is the new leader of Bundesliga after a 2-1 victory against FC Schalke 04 despite a yellow-red card.

I have zero personal attachment to SC Freiburg (although I do kinda like the city of Freiburg, nice mixture of Black Forest Gemütlichkeit and multicultural student city) and I realise that this is just a snapshot after a few games being played that won’t last - but I can’t help but look at the stark difference between them and the cheats currently in lead in the PL and appreciate how Freiburg did this through years of mostly local youth development in not exactly the most metropolitan area, solid work and conitinuity in managment, again mostly homegrown themselves. No multiclub billionaire ownership, often just local company sponsorship. Again, won’t last, but the football romantic in me that’s still left gets a little bit of enjoyment out of that.

A German championship title of SC Freiburg: I do not want, but if Borussia Dortmund or FC Augsburg do not will champion, SC Freiburg should become the new champions of Bundesliga. Most important: FC Bayern München do not may German champion.

I do press my thumbs for Hannover 96 against the Germany-hater of FC St. Pauli.
