Bundesliga / German NT

I do like how they tell you the weather before the game.

Finally, someone managed to score. 1-0 Leipzig

Yeah, really needed a goal this game. Leipzig with a case of Europa League hangover, no attacking rhythm in the first half - unsurprisingly, with all the changes.

Bayern has won their 10th consecutive Bundesliga title.  :man_facepalming:

The most boring league in the world.

There was a time when it wasn’t like that. Let’s see… oh yeah, when Kloppo was doing the same with Dortmund as he does with us now: competing against the odds against a financially doped winning machine, at the time with the same cheating Spaniard at the helm. And he did it just like us, by letting his players enjoy their game, and thus having the fans totally on board.

Honestly, this man deserves a statue and a title of nobility. His utter class and skills mean that football stays interesting for everyone, at least in the country where he operates.

It’s a fun league to watch, in terms of style of play and player development. Players get the chance at a young age, teams like Dortmund, Leipzig and Leverkusen are worth having a look at. Leipzig in particular have been good to watch the last years, with Nagelsmann there and now Tedesco.

But of course, when it comes to the excitement around the title race, this isn’t the league to watch.

Why the fuck are the showing Fürth vs. Dortmund? This game has absolutely no importance. :man_facepalming:

Schalke back in the Bundesliga next season.

7 Teams already confirmed for European football next season. If Frankfurt wins the EL they would be number 8.

Leipzig can still miss out on CL. Wonder what that would do to them.

Union Berlin have done them a favor last night.

Leipzig and Freiburg will play in the Cup final and they both have qualified for Europe. Would it give an additional spot for the Bundesliga clubs?

Yes. That’s already included in the 7 places I’ve mentioned.

Leipzig leading 4-0 right now and they will go two points clear. Their last game is against relegated Arminia Bielefeld.

Fight against relegation goes to final matchday on Saturday.

  1. Hertha 33 points -30 GD
  2. Stuttgart 30 points -19 GD
  3. Bielefeld 27 points -26 GD

15th stays up
16th plays a two legged relegation play-off against third place from 2. Bundesliga
17th goes down straightaway

Dortmund - Hertha
Stuttgart - Köln
Bielefeld - Leipzig

Them getting relegated was 1 of the biggest shocks in european football of late surely? Still remember when they beat a great Madrid side at the Bernabau not that long ago…much much bigger club than Everton.

They’re pretty similar, historically. Everton have 9 league titles, to Schalke’s 7; each has 5 domestic cups and one major European trophy, although the Germans also won the Intertoto Cup twice.

To say that Schalke are a “much bigger club” is nonsense.

For me they are, they went a period where they were regulars in the CL groups.

Everton…?

And the facts above show that you’re wrong.
