I remember a friendly a few years ago we were forced into bringing on Shamel George as a outfield player, he was only sub not used and one outfield player got injured.
Considering Alissonās season wouldnāt end until July 10 and he couldnāt visit his family when his father died, I think he should get a proper break and Kelleher should start in the first two matches.

We are all in agreement to that.
Get Ali on against Norwich if hes back in training. Heās a keeper, so doesnāt need to be rested like an outfield player.
Nonsense. Allison is a pro. He should be back when he should be back.
My sister died, I couldnāt ask my boss for an extended leave. Itās sad but life goes on.
The bigger question is, is that the kind of world we want? To me personally, Iām sorry to hear that you couldnāt get extended leave for that, and I hope you coped well, but I think itās much more beneficial for all involved if compassionate leave was a right. To the bereaved, thereās more time to recover, but more importantly to the stakeholders in the bereavedās work, you want someone whoās at 100%, not someone whoās still trying to get over something serious.
Especially for a role where your focus is paramount, like a professional goalkeeper at the highest level, every ounce of focus matters. Kelleher isnāt that far a step down from Alisson that I would feel that we canāt go without Alisson. Iād rather have 100% Alisson ready as soon as possible.

sad that youād even have to ask.
Really unsure of the situation regarding Brazil anyhow, if I went I know Iād have to quarantine somewhere for 10 days (if I wanted to avoid the hotel crap) so itās probably more the fact of his meeting his family somewhere outside Brazil.
I would assume that counts for everyone who was there mind.
At one point me and my partner were looking at the ways I could visit if restrictions remain and it was rather a ballache though Brazilians can now travel to Croatia and Switzerland so who knows how that will develop.
Sorry went a bit off topic (I also expect footballers to fall under special business cases as the government noted last week).
No, I donāt mean it like that. Iām not talking bad about my ex boss. I had some days off, went to the funeral, spent time with the family etc.
But how long do you need? Could anyone ask for extended leave from work 6 months after the family member had died? (obviously discounting emotional problems, depression etc).
The club will give him 3 or 4 weeks holiday I imagine. I donāt think Allison will want more than that.
Well thatās an interesting question isnāt it? Iād imagine the number of people actually taking the piss with such an allowance would be minimal. Even companies with an unlimited leave policy found their employees taking less leave than before such a policy, so Iād imagine with something as grave as compassionate leave, no one is going to say, let me be a malingerer for a bit more and milk it for all itās worth.
That said, I think your final paragraph is crucial, and Iām inclined to agree that he wonāt want to be off for too long. I donāt think anyone in our team would.
Everyone is different obviously and everyone handles things in their own way.
Obviously weād all rather live in a more compassionate world.

I had some days off, went to the funeral, spent time with the family etc.
I donāt believe Alisson had the opportunity to do any of those things, no?
No, but more because of the pandemic rather than the club denying him some time off. Same with Klopp as well.
