Relived.

Personally i think he is a good enough number two. He is deffo ok with his feet and has come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of years.

Gets the Keeper position sorted and the heirarchy sorted. Atleast for another 3-4 years. Will be primed to take over from Alli when Allisson decides he wants a new challenge.

Exactly. We have goalkeeper position sorted for the next 5 season. Nice to see some future in place rather than the old build for today and forget about tomorrow.

Transfermarkt have put it as a new contract until 2026.

Will be 28 then.

Yeah 5 year deal apparently and no going on loan.

More likely we will sell him next summer for 25 mil

A deal better than the one for Ward, yeah.

I wouldn’t settle into the idea that he’s going to be our reserve for five years. The likelihood is that he’ll do a season, maybe two, and then want to get off. He’s a really good keeper with a bright future and I think he’ll want to establish himself as a number one.

By which time we might have another good young keeper ready to step up.

Yeah I think we are considering what we have and the fact he can be called on.

You can’t/don’t really rest/rotate the keepers. Even his dodgy fitness, Alisson is expected to play 40+ games and that will leave Kelleher with 10 odd games. Maybe Klopp is planning his next evolution and will field Kelleher against low-block teams.

True. I would imagine he is very ambitious to be Ireland’s no. 1. He is by far the best available but he’ll need to be playing.

It’s more of Alli wanting a fresh challenge after 3 years. Most players do move on once they feel they’ve accomplished all they could do with the club. I can see Alli doing the same as well.

Kelleher brought on late in games and Alisson up front.

Ward plays internationally and he cant even displace kasper in leicester. It doesnt matter about his international career. Being a no 2 at liverpool is more than enough to see him getting picked

Possibly. I’m not familiar with the other Welsh goalies aside from Ward and Hennessey. But usually the guy playing regularly will get the nod over the guy on the bench.

Believe it was touch and go who would start for Wales in the tournament. Hennessey losing his place for at Palace probably might the decision easier. No doubt Ward is the better of the two.

I suggested this ages ago, only semi joking

Is there anything in the rules that prohibit a keeper switching to outfield and bringing on another keeper.

No. Same as in there be no rules which state that an outfield player can’t be a keeper
