Kelleher was playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers
People point to the Newcastle mistake but the fact we hardly noticed Alisson was gone while you have the other lot bleating about injuries when most of their poor form was due to a couple of players says it all.
I would at least give him the Brighton game as a send off.
Think he has played his last game here. 26 games last season, 20 games this season. Will surely get a good reception, as all players.
He defenitely deserves a send off game, but is an away game right, or should it maybe be Palace at home?
He has been excellent for us. Kelleher has done more than any number 2 goalie might reasonably achieve by playing quite a bit and winning two Premier League titles. He rightly wants to move in to be a number 1 somewhere, and if and when he goes it will be with our best wishes.
Maybe Bournemouth, in a post-Kepa world?
Iām probably known as his harshest critic, which I think is unfair because Iāve never denied his quality I just always maintained that he isnāt good enough to be our #1 after Alisson, but I agree heās done a very solid job as a deputy for a long time now and played a big part in our recent successes. It would be nice to give him a game before the end of the season if we can.
That could be Alissonās swan song though? Who knows really.
Doubtful. It seems very un-Liverpool-like to allow both 1st and 2nd choice keepers go in the same window. Even with Mama already signed, to come in, I think he will start off as No. 2 next season, getting the cups and a chunck when Alisson inevitably gets injured and become No.1 in 26/27
I think he will mainly start the first team in that one as itās the title lift as well anyhow.
After looking at the mistakes Raya has made recently , Kelleher wouldnāt make them. Heās probably the second best keeper in the league.
I donāt think itās that unfair considering the level of hype around him. When youāre only mildly positive amidst a sea of people thinking heās the next Alisson, then yeah youāre his harshest criticā¦
Good idea to give him a send-off game, or at least, to give him, say, 45 minutes against Crystal Palace, so the fans can properly cheer him on a last time.
He has been a great servant to the club, definitely the best nr. 2 Iāve ever seen at Liverpool FC. And one who really played his part when needed, with some exceptional performances.
Iāll wish him well when he leaves, thatās for sure.
Thereās a guy who has served the club well, has indicated he wanted to leave for more game time, didnāt make a drama out of it and will be wished all the best when he goes. Thatās how it should be done.
Lots of noise about him moving to Leeds Utd
Would hate to see that actually, as thereās no way they arenāt having a miserable season at or near the foot of the table and end up relegated. Would much rather see him at a stable PL-level club, heās good enough for that. Fuck, heās better than at least half the no1s in the league.
Can you imagine what a hero he would become to that fanatical fanbase though, if he was more than instrumental in keeping them up at the end of the season - the opposite could also apply if any of his howlers sent them down eh..!
Could be a challenge he would fancy taking on⦠or not :0)
Newcastle feels like such an obvious choice for Kelleher, but no real stories linking him there. Leeds would be a gamble, depending on the players they bring in. Thereās been a lot of talk about them focusing on investing in the spine of the team, so he might fancy being one of the key figures there. Tough one for him
Having a proper keeper who can save stuff might help them. Not sure why they stuck with their other guy for so long. Seemed that trust had finally gone with Darlow finishing the season off in goal.
Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is set to move to Brentford after the clubs agreed a £12.5m fee for the player, rising to £18m in add-ons.
Ā£12.5m, a bargain
