Carrick On Up The Khyber! It's the Manchester Untied thread

I hate that fucker.

(post deleted by author)

Absolutely, but which blind idiot elevated him?

They are just a mess. Owners who decked them and look like goblins. Arrogant UK Billionaire who knows nothing about football (not goblin). Manager we all knew was useless they appointed. Captain who is the biggest wanker going. Decaying ground. Still have Ferguson hanging around all the time when Dalglish etc knew when to withdraw. Squad building a joke. Young players leaving. Fans entitled pricks. I could go on.

I do wonder if Eddie Howe can be that guy.

Did a good job at Newcastle I thought with some good signings being made early into his time there. Utd’s finances may be shot, but probably still offer a pathway to more consistent spending.

He has shown at Bournemouth and at Newcastle the ability to set up teams to play either an attractive, expansive football or an attritional one. He is fairly decent tactically too (look at how he took apart Amorim’s Utd side or us in the league cup final for example).

Still the question of the recruitment team above him making the right signings and him being given the right support when handling players who are causing trouble in the dressing room is important.

Also, he comes across as quite dour sometimes in the media which may then become an issue but other than the Isak situation, I can’t recall him speaking out on internal stuff.

Even if not a long term appointment, I think he would do a good job to stabilise the club and build a decent platform from which the club could move forward.

ok I will go on. Past players who just slag them off and offer no decent answers. Cunty past players like Cantona. He is not involved but is a cunt. Fecking stupid ground building plan that fits a huge club - which they are not. What the feck is that stadium plan apart from an embarrassment? Debt beyond belief. Debt payments beyond belief. It will need Abu Dhabi and a sham deal or two to fix that. Did I mention Cantona is a cunt?

Yeah, Howe often popped into my mind when I thought about candidates to takeover at United or England.

Yes, I think he is the real deal as a manager. I have been very impressed with Como since they came up to Serie A a couple of seasons ago. In terms of talent, they were nowhere near the top quarter of Serie A so struggled most of the first season, but I remember a match against Milan late that season where they put up a remarkable fight for a team in the relegation mix - and not at all the dour defensive play one might expect. Since then, they have been steadily deepening their talent. This season is a challenge because they now compete in Europe, but I expect he will figure it out.

They really are a remarkable contrast to ManU

Howe would be a good option. But they will go Nagelshit. Ego. Faled at Bayern. Failed at Germany.

They’ve had tons of managers and no one can get tune of these players but its easier to keep sacking managers.

United were damned if they gave job to Carrick and damned if they didnt.

If they had started poorly (As they have) then everyone’s questioned why he was given it.
If they had given it to someone else and started poorly then everyone would’ve said why didn’t they give it to Carrick.

No manager can get a tune out of these players so it really doesn’t matter who is manager.

Desperately need United to get a result this weekend, so Carrick can continue.

Howe’s success at Newcastle was built on spending a LOT of money very early and being succesful with it. It was also done on the right profile of player that was both suitable for where they were in their development and didnt raise expectations that high the way City doing something flashy with Robinho did.

First winter was Tripper, Wood, Burn, and Bruno. The summer they followed it up with Pope, Botman and Isak and then Gordon in the Jan. That is 7 of what would be his core team in 3 windows. They hit their peak at the end of that season and then behind the scenes stuff started going wrong, the successful personnel moves started drying up, and Eddie’s ability to keep the progress going ground to a halt and they regressed.

I don’t particularly rate Howe, either his ability to develop players, his tactics or his personality.

In short, he’s perfect for United.

Its amazing because it isnt just wrong in the outcome. It is a prediction based on a complete ignorance of how the club was run. There were no foundations beyond Fergie and Gill. That is the fucking point.

Really hope they go for Conte :joy:

Likely be a foreign coach and then probably back to McKenna.

From the Beeb article:

“However, Fernandes - widely accepted as a football obsessive who watches games regularly and understands the tactical side as well as any player in the United squad - inflicted more damage when he spoke to TNT Sports afterwards”

I mean there you go. Tactical genius guaranteed.
