They are 3 points off the top of the table in la liga, we are mid table in the premier league.
Fuck La Liga.
They would be outside the Top6 in the PL too.
Benzema is a master at dragging out much better CBās from their comfort zones and playing people through (thatās the part where Real have missed something extra since Ronaldo left). Also in fine goalscoring form since Ronaldo left. Not Ronaldo numbers, but the attack is spread out differently and it now only makes sense that Karim gets more goals again. Seeing Nat Phillips attacking literally everything on the halfway line against Wolves makes meā¦ uneasy to say the least. Will be interesting to see what they pick in other two attacking positions, if they even play that formation. They could even find room for Valverde, to match our energy.
Kabak and Phillips will put Benzema, one of the best forwards in the last decade with close to 200 goals in their pocket? I hope you are right but it doesnāt look likely.
I dislike them as much as anyone but they canāt be discounted. They are very much the favourites to go through.
Wouldnāt it be great if they did
This is becoming a matchday thread. All we need is a starting lineup.
Where is Jotaā¦?
And the usual posts from @Lowton_Red and @PeachesEnRegalia
Iām seeing this as a 'similar situationā like two years ago against Bayern first leg.
We were without VvD, Gomez and Lovren. Most fans were not convinced about Matip (not me as I was always a big fan of him ) and I think Fabinho never played CB for us before.
No goal for Lewandowski + clean sheet.
Thatās pretty different to having Nat Phillips (I mean, what is he, a 24-year old with 30 senior games, most of which at Bundesligaās second level) and Kabak. Plus, the rest of Liverpoolās team, which was better equipped and played better. Bayern also werenāt themselves (though they did well to keep a clean sheet at Anfield, that was a little disappointment for us). I canāt find hope (maybe I can find hope, but not expectation, at least not high) in that we once knocked out Bayern with some issues at CB. It can happen against Real with bigger problems, much stranger things happened. But pure logic and normality suggests that it will be very hard. Harder than on that occasion, for sure.
Nat Phillips has been brilliant since he came in.
Finally, I was beginning to think I was the only one seeing that.
Are they? Iām sure weāre going into it the bookies favourites.
Iād be amazed if we were favourites i gotta say
Bookie schmookie. That only applies if you are having a bet.
We all have eyes and we all see the teams. Itās a fairly even contest, and both will fancy their chances. They will look at our form and our defence and like what they see. We know we are much better than the overall league season has shown, that Europe is our home, and we will go for it. They are good, but they arenāt the peak Real Madrid of yesteryear.
Game on.
We actually firmed into 11/2 from 15/2 to win the whole bloody thing after the draw. The bookies didnāt discount our chances at all. In terms of the media, they are favourites and we have no hope with our back line, but the bookies suggest otherwise - with Real 10/1 to win it all. Iām sure most of you know by now not to listen to these rubbish pundits anyway who feed us garbage narratives to try sway the betting public. Let the media continue writing us off and blowing Real Madridās trumpets until we wipe the floor with them.
Jose Enrique has nailed the reaction spot on!
Genuine question
How many of Real Madridās players would you want hereā¦
I guarantee you they would want more of our players
They have more players out on loan I would take than in their current squad.
