It was always going to be hard, whatever the draw. Real Madrid is an interesting one, especially as they don’t seem to be at the very top of their form currently, so maybe there is an outside chance for us, who knows (maybe 25%?). Motivation to do well should be there in spades despite of the still empty stands, which depresses me to no end if I’m honest.

A bit pissed off about the fact that City and Chelsea got probably the easiest possible draws with respectively Dortmund and Porto, but whatever
 let’s see if we can get through to the semis. It will be hard enough.

Then, we’ll have to deal with Chelsea, which is the easier of the two remaining English teams we could face, or Porto, who would be an enormous surprise package at this stage, just like us. Again, maybe a 25% chance to go through?

IF we can make it to the final, then we’ll face one of the remaining heavyweights who will be super-duper-favourites to lift the trophy. Being outsiders could help us in that case, although we’ll be outsiders for obvious reasons. In one single game, even against the likes of PSG, Man City or Bayern, our chance to win might be around one in four.

So, as a bottom-line, we have roughly 1,5% chance of lifting the trophy this season. That’s not a bad perspective! :smiley:

Yep - that would still be lovely.

I’d still take us finishing below the Ev in the PL and winning the CL. The fact they won’t be in the CL either way is just a bonus.

This is a good draw from us, we avoided Bayern, City, and PSG. They’re on the other side of the bracket. Real is beatable and if we progress from the QF we definitely have a chance against either Chelsea or Porto.
Wouldn’t it be something if we make the final 3 out of 4 years WoW :laughing:

The stadium is currently undergoing extensive renovations with the club taking advantage of the current coronavirus-induced ban on spectators enabling them to accelerate their project which includes building a retractable roof.

While the stadium refurbishments are taking place, Real’s first team have decamped to the 6,000 capacity Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium, home of Real Madrid Castilla, their reserve team who play in the third tier of Spanish football.

The ground is situated inside Real’s training complex at Valdebebas, some eight miles out from the Bernabeu and close to the Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport.

Yes, you’re right. If the winners of the EL and the CL came from the same league and finished outside their league qualifying spots for the CL then the club in the lowest qualifying spot is bumped into the EL.

Good draw overall.

Glad Bayern and City would have to face each other to get to the final.

We and Real are struggling this season but I think winning this round should give us or them a massive boost to also make the final.

Any chances for Hendo to return to the second leg?

But they have 5 hours fewer ‘rest’ and the Classico between the CL games.

Doesn’t our game with Arsenal have to be moved? Surely we are not playing Sunday afternoon and Tuesday - both away.
