Championship and Football League

If I am not wrong, he has Chinese (Singaporean) ancestry. To read the name properly:
First name: Perry
Last name: Ng Tian Hee

So Perry is his English name, Ng is his family name, and, Tian Hee is his Chinese name.

I don’t think you’re wrong, I went to school with someone who’s last name was Ng, I don’t think it’s that unusual tbh.

Not football league but North and South have been suspended for a fortnight…

Conference will probably follow and then the questions will be asked further up especially with the return to European football, that international break in March has to be cancelled in my view.

Brentford sold the Championship’s top scorer last season, Ollie Watkins, to Aston Villa for £28m. As a replacement they signed Ivan Toney from League 1 side Petersborough for £5m. Toney now has 22 goals and 7 assists in 27 matches - and is the Championship’s current top scorer. Now that’s what I call clever business.

How did the pitch turn white in matter of minutes :flushed:

I think McCarthy changed the system to a 3-4-1-2, Wilson at #10 and Ojo almost in like a Sturridge one of the two up top RCF role. Is that correct?

Brentford losing at home to midtable Barnsley. Would really mad if they fuck-up promotion again this season.

That’s the Championship for you.

Barnsley in really good spot recently. Usually every January they sell their best players (usually because contract is running down and other clubs offer higher wages, so they cash in to try and reinvest) and are one of the most financially responsible clubs out there.

This January, they managed to keep best players (Mowatt and Woodrow)- Mowatt will be out of contact at end of year, but working on resigning and they managed to get Woodrow signed to longer contract earlier in season.

They escaped relegation last season through a points deduction penalty to another club (they were third last, but other club relegated with points deduction) and and have now solidified their position as a championship club. They had Matty James on loan for first half of season, but sent him back because they felt they could develop their own players and looked safe from relegation (our ex herbie kane and Palmer, another young energetic midfielder), and did smart business themselves in January (desperately needed physical strikers- one permanent and one 20 yr old American on loan- the American looks massive- and a cb). This game was first for both strikers. Morris scored, so good start for him.

They try to find young players they can depend on and develop, and try to turn a profit on a couple of them when they become too expensive for them to keep. Not many older players in the team. Herbie kane an example of this policy. They actually spent more on him than per their usual, so I hope it works out for them. They usually can’t afford long term deals, because they never know if they they will be relegated, so two and three year deals common, and when young players pop, contract usually run down a bit so it’s a constant battle for them. They look more stable this year than have in past, hope it continues.
