Yeah that would be a good shout, only issue is the PL finishes 2 weeks after usually.
I think the problem with giving the playoff side a 2 legged playoff against the PL is that it’s awarding failure, giving them another chance to survive, some seasons it’s very close but the three down there this season could be down with 3 games left to go.
My issues with play-offs are
-
Why is it so exclusive? There’s no relegation play-offs, at any levels. There’s no play-offs for CL/EL deciding places. So why do you need play-offs for certain promotion spots.
-
The lower league teams already play more games, 46 as against 38 for PL teams. They are financially weak and hence have a weak/small squad, so why stretch them even more?
-
If it doesn’t matter whether you finish 3rd or 6th, you are encouraged to field a weakened team after a certain stage and that might benefit certain team in relegation battle.

Then again you’d have to question what achievement 3rd and 4th should be.
Mute point this year but it has and does occasionally give those teams who have a good season a chance of the big time, highly unlikely Barnsley will have another chance like this for several years.
And why should relegation have playoffs, You’ve done shit all season here you go have another shot.

The play-offs are scheduled for Monday
First legs and second usually are, I assume they weren’t scheduled for today due to the cup, might as well try and get maximum viewers.
I’m looking forward to them.

Will there be fans in the play-off games???
The Swansea home game is on the welsh test events list.
Dunno about the others
Edit: yeah it seems they will, Swans are giving the 4K tickets away for free to the fans which is a nice gesture

I mean if fans are allowed in today’s game (FA Cup), then it should be alright to allow fans on Monday.
Wembley is a lot easier to manage mind but it does seem there will be fans in which is only fair.
Ayew just scored a cracking goal. 1-0 Swans.
Evenly split all good should be tense nerve wracking second legs.
First year ever I’m not too bothered as each team has something going for them. Usually hate one of them and they usually go up.

Last season I didn’t want Fulham to get promoted and we all how that went.
