Just to start this off with the noise coming out from Spurs.
Forward areas are probably the only part of the squad that has just enough numbers in to be competetive right now. Take Cody away and we have 1 senior striker in Isak who picks up injuries and has not yet justified the fee paid for him.
Feel like we would be making things worse in selling Cody.

Agreed, I have been on the bandwagon of adding more numbers to the squad rather than some who are wanting to replace players, the only one I would consider replacing is Macca, just because his value should be high and is aided by still having 2 years left on the contract
I wonder if Areola will try him on the right wing as well
When Gakpo plays on LW there’s a lot of cutting in to the right
Would that mean that they’ll be a lot of going down the byline if he plays at RW
I also feel Cody should stay. Will definitely see the better side of him under Areola plus he’s always available and not injury prone.

My preference would be to definitely keep him until January at the earliest, until Hugo is back (or nearly back) and Barcola (fingers crossed) has settled in.
But for a big enough offer the club may decide it’s worth some short term-pain.
Big mistake if he does move. Actually, stupid on our part.

He’s shown his worth the last two matches. I don’t want us to sell him, but if we do it’s got to be over £100m in this market.

Worst part is selling to a rival. Would City sell any of their decent players to us? Never, yet we willing to sell to them.

Glad he stayed. I think it will do him the world of good to be part of a better forward line, with Munoz and Barcola coming in, and putting heat on his position. It means pressure, but also relief, and the possibility to play in a better formation. Last season, everyone expected him to be the main man and deliver the goods alongside Wirtz and Isak. When everything went pear-shaped, he became the easy scapegoat.
I’m sure that he’ll be good for us this season, and that he’ll enjoy it much more than last time around.

What a great professional he is. Difficult season last year, world cup, a tragic summer in his private life and a transfer saga at the end of the window. But still he playes great football with a terrific attitude and razor focus on the task ahead. An outstanding character as Rodgers would say.

How can he play this well when they sacked his dad, where is the loyalty 
Really really happy for Cody! I was quite critical of him last season and apologise for that. He was severely constrained by Slot’s instructions.

He was really awful last season and deserved the criticism I handed out.
That a manager tells a player not to pass seems a stretch of the imagination even with Slot concerned.
Also we are only 3 matches in to this season so let’s hold our horses. We don’t know what might happen during the season.
Gakpo has had good and poor matches throughout his time here, a season long poor patch is weird however the whole team seemed at odds with itself. The only player that seemed to improve was Kerkez and he’s getting loads of criticism this season after just 3 matches and 1 where he wasn’t quite up to scratch that we won.

So is Gakpo injured? I’m seeing some posts that he was missing from practice.

I don’t think he plays either of those passes under Slot, as the were risky.

He’s still the same player, but yeah he looks more fresh and hungry.
He always struck me as a player who needs to be provoked a bit, feel in danger for his starting place, play with that positive sporting anger, feel like he has something to prove.
Deep down he’s a really nice guy I think and now sporting wise, it’s unpredictable and he just needs to go out there, perform and “eat”. Maybe he’ll be on the market again, maybe he’ll be able to win a new little future with us.
I think with Barcola in, the chances are greater for the former. But you never know.
