Feel sorry for this lad. He was getting regular games before injury. Any news on how he got injured, in eyes?
Havenāt heard, but my assumption was someone waving an arm while fending off a tackle.
I think I heard something about a clash of heads with a finger involved, freak accident, Tsimikas mentionned as well.
Not listening to his motherās warnings
Thought there was a pic of him in the gym about 3 weeks ago but no news since and no sign of him outdoor training . The injury must be quite bad to keep him out this long. I am surprised there have been no updates.
Klopp gave an update a week or two I think. Fitness wise he is OK and in training. He has no problems with his vision. However, with an eye injury, its quite important to let it heal properly, and that is what is keeping him out.
Finally.
Should be fresh.
Poor lad. At this rate Elliott is going to be back in the side before Cutris is next available.
Get ready lad, we got some juicy Cup games lined up for you.
āCurtis Jones, Curtis Jones - calling Curtis Jonesā¦ā
Time will come when he deserves his own song.
So whatās the deal with Jones? Klopp said heās ānot 100% happyā with him.
Maybe its because he touches the ball a billion times before he passes it on.
All part of the learning curve, I guess. I keep forgetting heās about to turn 21, I always think heās older a year or two. I think he still hasnāt come to terms with the new role he has, sometimes heās too slow, the other times heās too quick. Sometimes he executes his mazy runs so well one would think he has a second or two on all the other players. His season has been interrupted with injuries and COVID, heās come into the side that doesnāt have Salah and especially Mane on his flankā¦ He should take it slowly, have full grasp of the basics before learning to take games by the scruff of their necks.
He said he had a long talk with Curtis. When someone says they arenāt happy with someone and had a long talk with him about it, I wonder if it has to do with attitude. Particularly when there were links of him leaving.
I certainly hope this isnāt the case.
I certainly hope this ends the idea that JĆ¼rgen wouldnāt say anything bad about one of his boys in a press conference.
But on the specific issue, Iām leaning towards there being quite a few things heās doing wrong at the moment, but nothing that canāt (and wonāt) be fixed.
I donāt think it is attitude related, at least not in a negative sense and Iām havenāt seen anything to say that either are unhappy. I think @Nikola is most likely to be right on this, it is probably just part of his development. Curtis is a talented young player eager to make his mark on the team and also sees the side struggling, so is probably allowing himself to get a bit carried away sometimes. Whenever he has been fit, he has earned a run in the side.
21/22: 817 mins
20/21: 1920 mins
19/20: 587 mins
I think his development is steady rather than spectacular. A part of me is disappointed that he hasnāt done better and may have stagnated. The fact that he has established himself as an option for a team like Liverpool says something about his potential and development.
I donāt think it was necessarily something dramatic.
Was difficult to have him fit and firing so far this season.
Going from last season into this one, he was realistically one that you expected to make a new step or at least keep a good level, become more consistent.
Henderson and Fabinho are basically our two automatic choices, so that third/LCM role was/is more up for grabs.
It was just probably Klopp having a convo with Jones now with Thiago out that he will have to take more responsibility in coming games.
Get him fit and play smartly.
He was injured for some of the second half of last season and again the first half of this season. He has played really well in a number of games, so I donāt see any problems with his development. Heās young, it takes time.
