4 out - Firmino, Ox, Keita, Milner
2 in - Seems like it could be Bellingham and Mount, with Mount kind of an inbetweener for midfield and the front line.
Phillips and Williams will probably leave.
I think that would leave 26 players and that’s probably where we will be.
Carvalho and Bajcetic will start at least in the early part of the European campaign.
Haven’t seen anything from Carvalho to suggest he warrants being here next season. Don’t see where he fits or why we’d keep him around. Needs to improve before he can even make the bench.
Jones could be sold too if a decent offer comes in. Sounds harsh, but there must be a temptation to let somebody else deal with his injury problems.
I wish all of our players were as resistant to pressing (at least in our half) as him. Great flick in the build-up to Salah’s goal and I thought the had a decent game overall but I understand why Klopp took him off.
I genuinely hope he won’t be another player dumped on my “what might have been” heap, though. If he remains fit, I could see him posing a proper challenge to any midfielder we might sign because he cares and has excellent technical ability that he needs to channel into consistently good performances.
Solid couple of games from him, certainly showing that he deserves more minutes if he can stay fit, hopefully we can rotate Jones and Thiago for the rest of the season.
In his interview during the week he said he is only allowed to do 4 days of activity in a row. Obviously you can manipulate that so you’re available for games, but it’s an indication of how carefully they are treating him now, which is surely why he came off today almost exactly at 60 mins.
for the past few months, have been frustrated in our lack of ability to survive the opponent’s press. we usually end up doing the CB>GK>CB triangle passes then hoofing it up the pitch. haven’t seen enough support from the CM’s when the ball gets moved out side, like there’s no plan in place for the ball once it gets to Trent/Robbo. very frustrating to watch, there should be an option in the middle who can receive a pass and not get trapped with the ball. Saw Curtis a few times pop up in areas where he could take the ball. Fab still sits behind their #9 and effectively removes himself as an option up the middle, although we did attempt to move it vertically a few times. I think we can be much better in transition and he could really be a key part of that. Def need someone who can do the one/two’s with Thiago and/or Bobby/Cody to keep that ball moving and not stuck in someone’s feet.
What a fucking hatchet job of an article. Goes back to the quote from Souness that only a big head or injury will stop him making it Liverpool, then simply ignores that he has had loads of injuries in order to reach the conclusion he has an attitude problem.
I don’t know who Will Ford is, but he can fuck off.
