Curtis has been one of our better players this season. He has actually been able to do a job when called on. How the hell Mac Allister has kept his place in beyond me, unless our tactics are actually to roll around leaving us a player down when we need to defend, or wasting time when we are losing.
Well his change made him.
But I do agree the small squad simply doesnāt work, the problem also comes when you have to count on those outside it. Endo played a couple of cameos and then you expect him to fully start and he gets injured. Thatās going happen.
Same thing lost me,had āhisā players and stuff the rest,he had no obvious ambition of developing players, and it shows.
What change made who?
I think he was referring to Gravenberchās move to DM last season. Before that it felt that he was very much on the fringes.
I think some of this is partly the fact that Endo and some other perhaps donāt fit the sort of role Arne wants in the team and doesnāt want to keep making adjustments to fit them in.
But it may also be a reflection of the training they do - if that is less intensive than under previous managers, then does he feel the need to push them more in matches to learn and retain the rhythm, making up for that?
Iāll wait for confirmation as this is Jones thread and that was just an example where using the squad would have been beneficial.

I just read that Curtis hired a private chef for the second half of the season. At first, I thought it was a bit strange, but actually, itās a good thing to seek professional help when you need it. So, whatever the reason was, I hope it helped.
Presumably, he would be acting on the advice of the club nutritionist. I assume that we still have a club nutritionist?

Curtis Jones daughter is so adorable! ![]()
I do hope Curtis stays. I get the impression that he doesnāt get on with Slot, but he has the clubās DNA running through him and that will rub off on new players.
I hope Curtis stays too, he is what Liverpool is all about. Maybe he can take a nice rest and reflect on what he wants to do next. Stay at Liverpool and hope for the atmosphere changes for the better
He is a solid performer, local and versatile.
We will need somebody like him next season if try and overhaul the squad as we probably should and end up a little light on backup.
Iām sure our record with Dom as RB was better than with Curtis - still shit but better.
My guess is Slot wants the club to cash out on Jones (and Alexis) thatās why he playing him out of position.
Nah! He just hasnāt got a clue.
Watching us against Brentford I got the feeling the players decided to play football, Slot just decided the players on the pitch. That first 4 months was the players on auto pilot.
Jones is a very good player and I hope he stays. Good on the ball. Home grown. Local. There is a lot to like.
It looks like there is a distance between Jones and Slot, so if Slot stays I think Jones will go. Ugh.
Hopefully a new head coach is on the way, and hopefully that gives Jones renewed hope to stay.
Most players at that level have a private chef.
Itās not a surprise that Curtis is being linked with a move away. His contract expires in a year and I think the clubs offer and the players demands will be totally out of sync.
Weāve just put Gravenberch on 250k, Szoboszlai is going to expect similar if not more, Wirtz will already be in that ballpark. We going to be looking to bring in a Midfielder who is probably need weighing in to that amount as well.
Curtis Jones probably expects to be on that kind of money, and thatās not a good investment for the club. He isnāt a guaranteed starter, and also spends a lot of time injured.
At the same time, I expect the club does not want to lose any more players on free transfers, and would prefer to get back to an even keel with contracts where we are arenāt losing players every season.
Jones is just in a position where a new contract makes no sense for either part. Jones could get more money elsewhere, Liverpool want to put the kind of money he would demand elsewhere, and want to recoup some money on a player they developed from the academy.
And none of this should be interpreted as me not rating him. I really like Jones, and Iāve been defending him for years against negativity from lads who would always talk him down. Probably the same lads who now act like heās Iniesta because itās a way to have a pop at Slot.
The reality, I think, is that this is a transfer that has to happen because nobodyās wants it not to happen. Jones wants parity with other midfielders at the club. Liverpool donāt want to pay it, and also donāt want to miss out on the opportunity to bank Ā£35m pure profit.
His injury record this season has been fine, heās only missed about 5 games across all competitions because of it.
Sure, but he has a history of niggles and strains that keep him out for a month here and there, often frustrating just as it looks like he is going to hold on to the shirt.
