Have they bought a decent goalie or any defensive back up yet?

Defensive back up? They had 2 CBs on the bench and 2 more who didn’t even make the match squad.

Are they any good then? I frankly haven’t a clue what they have but conceding two to Wolves doesn’t suggest a great backline

I think you’re missing the key word “decent” there lol…

Exactly why we need to secure our goalkeeper of the future. Chelsea’s strategy might be to hoard them and corner the market so no one else has a goalkeeper. :smirk:

So…how many are they going to have in goal…new set up of…2-3-3-2-1…

Chelsea could send out 11 keepers to play in goal and they would still concede 2 goals in the majority of games.

How many of these excess players are going out on loan?

Kepa is apparently out on loan to Bournemouth so it’s one in sort of one out.

I’m no numbers cruncher, but a cursory review of their transfers over the past 3 seasons on Transfermarket shows a balance of over -€850M. How is this even possible under FFP?

I just assume it’s some kind of Pyramid scheme.

They sell academy talent as pure profit, boosting the annual PSR figures they need to abide by, and then their incoming players transfer fees are amortised across the length of contract (I think now 5 years max), meaning they can sell a player for £10m, and effectively buy a £50m player.

Surely that’s got to hit a limit fairly soon when they run out of headroom even with amortisation…
